We have a December land-sea trip set-up and our kids have been driving us nuts with looking at the various books and DVDs that show things about the cruise portion of the trip. My 12 year old daughter has learned to use the internet and been reviewing Navigators for activities that interest her.

She found that on the last day, there is a show in the Walt Disney Theatre called "Celebrate the Journey". She found that the show description says the "children" of the ship get to be involved and can not stop talking about it!!!! Can anyone tell me what exactly this show will allow her to do? She is just about to loose her cool thinking that she will get to be on stage with Mickey or Minnie.

While we are just about as excited as the kids; I think next time we won't tell them until the day we're leaving :)

That poor information DVD Disney Cruise line sent last year is just about worn out!

There is a special children talent show for the parents/families to enjoy:
Celebrate the Journey

Take to the stage and perform with your Disney's Oceaneer Club friends in this magical farewell event in the Walt Disney Theatre.

Celebrate the Journey is a nice farewell show for the parents and kids. Everyone gathers at the Walt Disney Theater and the kids march down in their "DCU" (Disney Sea University) shirts and "graduation" mouse ears. They show a real cute video show of all the different kids and some of the things they did over the past few days. (Watch carefully because they try to get everyone involved and in the show.) Mickey and Minnie are also there to help celebrate their graduation. (So yes, they will be on stage with them :) )

The stage gets filled with all the kids that were a part of the programs. It's pretty amazing to see that many kids in once place since at times, they are hardly visable around the ship.

The whole thing lasts about 15 minutes. Well, at least the two times I saw it.

GusDaughter, 11, loves being a part of this program as well as the entire Oceaneers Lab program. At the same time, she can't wait till she goes again as a teen so she can be a part of that program as well.

I know that December can't come soon enough for you... The Land/Sea package is a great time.

Thanks Gusman for filling in the gaps -- I don't have kids so I had no clue how much goes into that. It sounds adorable! :)

It really is cute. The past couple of trips, the video is done to the song "On my Way" (from Brother Bear??) and it was kinda catchy.

Not to sound too sappy, but just seeing GusDaughter up there with a huge smile on her face made me realise how great of a trip she had. That meant the world to me.

tmcgin - when you go to see the program, try to get there at least 15 mins early as the theater fills up quickly. Closer to the stage, you will have better photo ops as well.

Thanks for the info! Based on what you have said, my daughter will love this > even for only 15 minutes it will be worth it to watch her enjoy this. Julie
