I have to be in Simi Valley for training for 3 weeks in July, I want to fly my wife and 5yo daughter down for a weekend. We were just at DL in may and had a great trip, no crowds and great weather etc. I don't want to ruin my memory of that great trip by a Saturday trip in July (too crowded, hot etc.) The question is how age appropiate is Universal Studios Hollywood for a 5 year old? She could handle EVERYTHING DL dished out, TOT, HM (her favorite), Pirates etc. It has been years since I was down at Universal (King Kong was the new attraction) and I'm not sure how intense the attractions would be. Is this place to be avoided? Any other ideas for something to do in the Valley would be great if US is too extreme.

BTW mouseplanet made my DL trip great, we stayed at HOJO on this sites recommendation and couldn't have been happier.

There is lots of stuff at Universal a 5 year old would love. If should could handle the rides at DL I don't think anything at Universal would be off limits, as long as she was tall enough to ride. The Nickelodeon section also has lots of stuff she would probably enjoy if she watches any of the shows on Nick.

We went right before my boy turned 6, and he was cool on everything, but we didn't take him into T2-3D, although the wife and I both thought it was great, and that's from someone who never seeks out that individual's name on a movie marquee or a ballot.

Cheers.

My kids loved Universal at that age but there were like two things they could not do because of Height restrictions. There are more shows then Rides but they are very entertaining.

Thanks for the replies, my daughter can't get on JP and the Mummy ride but everything else seems O.K. Any idea if a website similar to mouseplanet exists for USH?
