I was just wondering why we don't have post count info underneath our names. That can be a helpful feature sometimes on a message board.

You can click on the posters name and view their profile. It's on that page.

Just curious - in what way would knowing your own or someone else's post count be useful?

It's been my experience on other message boards that a person's post count can be easily used against them (both low and high).

For example: "Someone with a low post count like yours can't tell us regulars how to think". Or, "wow, your post count is really high - you need to get a life."

;) Can't win, right? LOL

I like that they aren't on the post.

it cuts down on your new and have to prove yourself and also

wow "get a life" comments :)

Yeah, that's mostly what I've seen post counts being used for. I don't know how useful...oh, sorry, HELPFUL it would be otherwise. I like that people's comments are taken for what they say (or don't say, in some cases), not because of how many other posts they've made. It's also way too easy to descend into the "I'm going to post totally random things to raise my post count" mentality that I personally find annoying and disruptive.
