My DS is already 40.5" tall and is 3 going on 4 - has anyone taken a child this age on Soarin'? If so, how did they do?

By the time we travel in September, DS will most likely be tall enough to ride, and I'm thinking that he'll probably really enjoy it - I just thought I should check, though, and see if there's any reason why Soarin' might not be a good choice for the little ones! :)

Thanks!

My DD started riding Soarin' as soon as she was 40" tall at about 3 1/2 years old. Initially she held my arm and briefly closed her eyes for some of the parts, but she enjoyed the experience and kept wanting to do it over again and again. It's still one of her most favorite rides at the DLR.

My son and daughter both rode it as soon as they hit the height requirement without a problem. But they'd both been going to DL since they were infants. Different kids respond differently to the same attraction. Does your child have a fear of heights? Have you been on it before so you can explain what the ride is about? When mine rode it for the first few times, I kept an arm laid over their lap so they could hold onto it if they needed to. I also didn't let them sit on the end of the row. I still don't but that has to do with me and not them. Have a great trip!

I just got back from WDW. My husband and I took our 4 year-old on Soarin and he loved it. He sat between us and I had my arm across his lap. There were a few moments at the beginning when he was about to get scared (putting his face into my arm) because it felt like we were going to drop, but when he realized that wasn't going to happen he relaxed and really enjoyed the rest of the ride.

My son was 3 1/2 when he went on Soarin' for the first time, he was just 40 inches and he LOVED it! In fact, when we go to DCA now, he asks to ride it first.

My twins loved it at that age, one of their favorite rides.

Max rode it for the first time just before he turned 3. He loved it then and it's still one of his favorite rides.
