While it has been open for 3 weeks now, Lisa and I had a chance to try the new Johnny Rockets inside the park.

EXCELLENT!!!!

This is the largest Johnny Rockets in the world, and if you check out the kitchen, they actually have two complete Johnny Rockets kitchen setups, including the fountain drinks/shakes.

During spring break, they had folks waiting due to all 260+ seats being filled.

They only allow Dine-in customers, but all the food is cooked to order (well, the shakes are made from scratch and include real ice cream, and fresh whipped cream, they don't cook those ;)

And they don't just have Hamburgers and shakes, but many sandwiches and other treats.

Here is the menu...

One thing to note, Johnny Rockets normally serves Coke, but the arrangement with Cedar Fair, L.P. allows them to serve Pepsi, since they have a contract with Pepsi.

Here is a Press Release....

We saw the Johnny Rockets there a few weeks ago and were surprised to see it. I think Johnny Rockets is ok - but it's a chain. I'm not a fan of chains being in amusement parks. Universal is chock full o' them, and I think it's really stupid. I hope Knott's isn't going down that same route.

Cedar Fair, L.P. has deals with T.G.I. Friday's and Johnny Rockets in the food department.

Neither of these choices are Fast Food (Universal does have deals with Panda Express, El Pollo Loco and Dodger Dogs).

I think there is a big difference.

But heck, Disney has McDonald's in their parks......

Yeah, and I'm not happy about that either, and I certainly hope that's the end of their chain affiliation and hope that particular affiliation is available for a limited time as they claim it to be. I'm of the opinion that part of the experience of a theme park is their food. Why would I spend money to go to a theme park to have the exact same food I can have a few blocks from my house?

I think this is good for the people that like places like this, but I prefer the other food choices at KBF, such as chicken dinnner or fried cheese on a stick.
