QuikQuote: Apple Computer Inc. CEO Steve Jobs said Thursday he had no interest in becoming an executive at The Walt Disney Co., which will soon complete its acquisition of Jobs' other company, Pixar Animation Studios Inc.
In fact, Jobs told shareholders he plans to spend more time at Apple after he relinquishes his chief executive job at Pixar when the studio's merger with Disney closes in two weeks.

I'm curious to know what, if any, role Jobs will have at Pixar after he relinquishes his CEO title, or even whether Pixar will continue to exist as a distinct entity under the Disney umbrella or just become part of Disney Feature Animation.

From what I've heard, it sounds like it will largely be merged with Feature Animation, but with Pixar's current management (mainly John Lasseter on the creative side and Ed Catmull on the business side) taking the primary role. Pixar will remain as a separate brand, with the films under the Pixar name produced up in Northern California, at least initially by the same creative team that works on them now. Films under the Disney name will continue to be produced at the Burbank facility.
Steve Jobs' role at Pixar has always been primarily financial and largely hands-off. As a Disney board member, he may be able to continue providing some of the same guidance that he did before, but his involvement has never been all that significant creatively. His main contributions were more in the area of fund raising and investor and business relationships, a role that can pretty easily be taken over by Disney's own management structure.
