I may have to check out his restaurant when I'm in town in October. Of course, it will probably be impossible to get a table now.
I am sure it will depend on which of the three you are looking at visiting. Tex-Wasabi got the most press, so I would guess it may be a bit busy. Any of the three are worth trying.

I thought of you Jewels when I saw that Guy won!
I enjoyed the final show, the rest of the family thought it was drawn-out. We'll be watching Guy's debut on June 25.

did you hear that his contract is for only 6 shows? I thought THAT was interesting—do this whole show and then only commit to 6 shows....The Hearty Boys also had an initial commitment for just 6 shows, but they got picked up. There is hope. :)

The finale was a little bit long and drawn out. I also thought that bringing the contestants that didn't make it back for a final meal was like giving them a booby prize. I personally would not have wanted to be invited back for a meal prepared by somebody who was considered the winner. It would take a while for my feelings to adjust to having lost the race. It's a little bit artificial to expect everyone to be a gracious loser, especially when the stakes are so high.

Me too! He has a great personality. I did feel sorry for Reggie, but, his "sassy" thing wore me out! ha!

This Sunday! Guy's Big Bite comes to Food Network (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/sfgate/detail?blogid=3&entry_id=6453) -- SFGate Culture, 2006-06-23
Santa Rosa's Guy Fieri (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/05/02/DDG7CIHKFO1.DTL&hw=fieri+hartlaub&sn=001&sc=1000) has to be the coolest chef I've talked to, and not just because he actually cooks food that normal people like to eat (http://melissaparcel.blogspot.com/2006/06/fettuccine-and-pie-oh-my.html). It turns out the winner of The Next Food Network Star has been the Bob Hope of Sonoma County for years -- and all the people he helped with their charitable causes turned out big time to support him on the show.
Guy's Big Bite (http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/show_gi/text/0,2857,FOOD_26717_48262,00.html) premieres at 10 a.m. Sunday (June 25) on the Food Network, with an episode intriguingly called "Bloody Mary Steaks." The show runs for six weeks, and if the ratings are good enough he'll get a full time gig. Check it out!

Who's brilliant idea was it to debut a new show at 10 AM? I kept looking for it (figuring 10 Eastern/Pacific = 9 Central) and it's clearly not on. Ooops, that AM means something, I suppose...

I thought the same thing. I was looking forward to this show. I didn't pay close attention to the commercials, or obviously, to Andrew's post, so I was surprised when I checked my tv section this afternoon and there was no show listed for tonight. I scanned through the day only to spot that it had been on at 10 am, with no repeat tonight. Bummer, and dumb on Food Network's part.
