Mouseplanet's/DB's Disneyland fastpass secrets were posted on DIGG.COM today, the result being (probably) the slowness of the site this afternoon.

I am just barely able to get on, and I have been trying all morning. I can access other sites fine, and it JUST now went to the regular site, instead of a white screen.:(

You may have noticed the outage and slow loads that have been occuring on MousePad today. I've been informed that this is due to an external website's link to a recent MousePlanet article on FastPass that caused a spike in traffic and subsequent server problems (something like the slashdot effect).

We're working behind the scenes to fix the problem, but in the meantime things may go up and down, be fast or slow until it passes. Thank you for your patience.

The digg effect!

Surprised that anyone would post anything on digg about anything on Mouseplanet, but it was nice to see that article on Fastpass get dugg to the front page.

Surprised that anyone would post anything on digg about anything on Mouseplanet...We've also been Slashdotted two or three times.

I'll wait while you get over your shock.

Cool! Not for the slowdowns of course, but that MousePlanet got dugg and it's passed 1,000 diggs so far!

Eh, Slashdot is so 1970s. Any site could be "slashdotted" if the editors wanted it too... at least with Digg you know it's the users that thought your content was interesting (not all submissions get elevated to the front page).

Digg is so much better, I stopped checking Slashdot for a while now.
