My husband and I are going to Disney World with our 2 1/2 year old in May. I was wondering what things not to miss and what to avoid? We are staying at the All-star movies resort for 5 days. I have made Priority Seating for our meals. I have 2 character meals planned. I have been searching all over Mouseplanet and have gotten some really great ideas and things to do. I have also read the Official Guide to WDW. I wanted some different opinions especially when traveling with a young child.

The best advice I can give to newbies is "READ THOSE MAPS". I really can't stress that enough. People miss so much because they just assume it's going to me right in front of them like a 6 Flags. 5 days is a great amount of time with little ones. When my girls were that age they were more of a passive audience. I think that you will find that it's worth it to spend most of your time at Magic Kingdom and half days at the other parks. The water parks are great for the younguns and they have life jacket rentals too. Other than that the only other thing I can say is take your time and take in all the magic of the place.

OF course I dont live by that rule. I'm more of a Disney Camando.:p

Have a great time and make sure to put in your reviews of the resturants that you stay at. Inquiring minds want to know.

a 21/2 year old will get a lot out of MK, but make sure to take in the other parks as well.
things not to miss outside mk for the children
Epcot. perhaps one of the hidden jems of character meet and greats. something at every country.
living seas. our little ones loved watching the fish.
kid stops in WS. coloring, and all sorts of projects to keep tots happy

studios
another chance to meet characters. especially behind the great movie ride down the street from little mermaid.
little mermaid show. put your kid on your lap and watch their faces lit up
beauty and the beast/ hunchback/ fantasmic shows. a must see for everyone.

AK
animals, animals, animals.

for the adults take in all that you can. WDW has the best ride swap system in the country, so there is no need for you to miss any ride. take turns riding and watching.

have fun
