I'm trying to decide between Fantasmic or the Electrical Parade. My boy doesn't like loud noise and I seem to remember that Fantasmic can be overwhelming, however neither my husband or child have ever seen it (or the EL) I am assuming that Fantasmic isn't going anywhere and therefore we could see it on a future trip whereas the Electrical Parade is more iffy - it will be there on the Sunday night that we begin our vacation and then poof! it appears to be gone.....

You might be better off at the EP -- you can gage it during the day -- see how he reacts to rides with loud noises (esp. in Fantasyland or the gun shots on Jungle Cruise). If he is easily startled, you might want to skip it this time.

My six year old girl is scared of loud noises and just a little chicken sometimes:p She did love fantasmic though. Covered her ears during all of wishes too.

I have had mixed experiences with my kids and Fantasmic! when they were young. Some freaked out and others made it through the loud intense parts okay because they were so enthralled by Mickey and the princesses and the rest of the "sweet" stuff.

My son freaked out the first time that he saw Fantasmic (2.5YO) because of the noise, and he was wearing headphones. He was extremely sensitive to noise, though, probably as a result of spending his first 10.5 weeks in the NICU, where they keep things very quiet, and it was unusual for a baby to be healthy enough to let out loud cries. He still has problems with loud, sudden noises, but he was much better with Fantasmic last August (almost 7YO) though he still held his hands over his ears.

yes, Fantasmic can be scary for a 4 yr old. i'd definitely do the MSEP over it. another benefit is that MSEP starts and ends earlier and kids that age after a full day at DLR can be pretty tired at that time of night.

i personally prefer MSEP, but i just polled my DD's ages 4-1/2 and 7, who have seen both several times the last 2 or 3 years, and they said ..... F!

(but i remember them being scared and sleepy the first few times too)

(plus i usually drag them to MSEP :D )
