My family and I are interested in a 7-Day Eastern Caribbean DC in April. After some scouring of travel agents, prices, and availability, booking directly through Disney seems like a decent deal (not the best prices, but better availability). We had a few general questions if anyone could answer them:

1. Is booking directly through Disney recommended?

2. How is booking air travel through Disney? Which airlines do they use? Any good or bad experiences?

3. Any other comments regarding booking Disney Cruises through Disney?

Thanks!
Mick :)

We booked air on our own because we wanted more control over the flight ...
I think you might be better off finding a TA who specializes in Disney and can help you get a great cabin location. :)

I've booked both directly through Disney, and most recently, with a travel agent. My agent was able to get a MUCH better deal, especially on the flights. I'll be using my agent for all future trips.

Thanks for the info. What airline did Disney use? Disney was quoting a pretty good airfare price, I think, since it was the same as the cheapest Southwest Airlines quote prices (which were better than Expedia/Travelocity could come up with on the other airlines). I agree, though, agents have a knack for finding better deals than you can find on the web.

Just wondering... did you get a much better deal on the cruise itself, excluding the airfare, or are you referring to the whole package? I ask because every once in a while you hear about "great deals" without a real price comaparison. I would be very interested in hearing about your experience.

We booked our honeymoon through our travel agent for end of October of this year. Our total cost for two people is $2,800 and includes the following:

Roundtrip non-stop flight from LAX
3 nights at WDW's Caribbean Beach Resort
7-night Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Magic - Category 11
All ground transportationThe same thing through Disney was $1,000 each just for the cruise, plus $400 each for the flight, not including the airport transportation.

For the same price, we got 3 nights at a moderate resort at WDW and all ground transportation by going through our agent. :)

Paying the same $$ and getting the CBR and transport to/from Port is a good deal for sure.

Like anything else, it pays to shop around.
