Went yesterday for the annual opening weekend. Found that they were very hit and miss with what they "repaired" over the winter. Some of the things had a great new coat of paint on them but then others were sooo run down that the paint was just flaking off. I wish they would just go through and sandblast everything before repainting.
We also had an issue with the height check people. My son measured 44 inches at home without shoes on which meant that he got to ride AT LEAST three new rides. We got there and they tried to put a 40" inch ride band on him which total made the redneck mom come out in me. :~D I demanded for a supervisor and it took me getting two of them before they acknowledged that he was 44 inches. The first person was actually point her hand down which is why he came in under the 44 inch mark. Times like this I wish WDW was sooo much closer. But we make do with what we can. I shouldn't complain too much since it is only 30 minutes away and an annual pass is only $50 for a year.
Okay enough ranting.... anyone have bad experiences with recently opened amusement parks?
