:) yeah! I am so happy. We were there in Sept. but I felt like I didn't get a chance to enjoy it..I was so stressed, but this time all my worries are going out the door and I am going to have the best time!! We are going in october this year, seems so far away, but I will savor all 9 days we are there! it's also a suprise to the kids.. we are not telling them we are going. the plan is to board the plane telling the kids we are going to visit their aunt and uncle in San Diego, pretend we are lost and then we will take a little de-tour and arrive at disneyland.

Sounds like a blast!! The kids will love it! It sounds far away, but so does June and that is our long vacation. We are going for 4 days in April and my kids are wondering how anyone does Disneyland in 4 days.

That is such a giddy little rush for me too the day I book the trip.
The other fun benchmarks for me are:
The day I make Priority Seating Reservations.
The day I finish paying for it.
The day my ticket packet arrives.
The day I check in! :)

That is exactly why we just went last week. We were there in Oct, and were stressed and didnt feel like we "finished". The kids loved the suprise of going back.

We are going for 4 days in April and my kids are wondering how anyone does Disneyland in 4 days.
I can't miss enough work to do a long, relaxing trip- so we take what we can. We just did 3 days. You do it by knowing you will miss some things, and your days will be long! Our last trip was 3 full days, and 2 partials. Since it was only 5 months ago, we didnt feel a need to do everything this time. We even missed some favorites like Aladin. But, we really enjoyed the magic this time.

I think 3 days is perfect. You should get to do everything you like - and even some things a second time. For me, the real key is actually having a bit of a plan for the day about what you want to see and do. If DCA is in your plans, then I'd plan a day to start there. If you accomplish all you wanted, then you can go to Disneyland. In fact, since DCA closes earlier, it makes for a good day to see fireworks after DCA closes.
A 4 year old might have different wants from the rest of the family too - but you're experienced Disneylanders and you know your kids.. I don't :)
Just have fun, be sure to hit your personal favorites and enjoy.

But, we really enjoyed the magic this time.I will say I am very fortunate. We have a family run business and we shut down for Christmas break completely every year. So, the kids and I head to Disneyland during that time. Also, during the summer, we can take a nice break (we farm) til the start of the season. So, we generally come down then. In April, my parents are bringing a family over from Germany and we are taking them to Disneyland for 4 days. I have my step dad on one side saying "Why do we need to go for more than a day?" and my kids going "Only 4 days?" (We are actually coming 5 days now I think, we will come down a day early.) We will have with us my kids (19, 17, 16), me (old), my baby brother (27), my parents (late 60s), 2-5yo nieces, 1-8yo nephew, and the family from Germany (2 late 20 adults, an 8yo boy and a 5yo girl.) Oh man, I am tired just thinking about it... Oh, and a 5 mos old puppy... He was 10 weeks his last trip...
