Max and I will be in San Diego on Tuesday, March 7th (one of our cruise ports). We have been planning to go to Sea World, but it looks like it might be a rainy day. Should we still go? Is there a lot of shelter, or mostly outdoor open space for the shows? Would we be any better off going to the Zoo or Wild Animal Park? Will we be miserable out in the rain at any of these places? Any other suggestions? I know there are tons of museums in Balboa Park, but would any of them be fun for a 4-year-old who picked Sea World from the list of places to go?

Grab a poncho and an umbrella and head to Sea World!!!

You'll have a great time. You may even get lucky, most of the predicted storms this far south have never made it here beyond a few sprinkles.

Make sure you are near a porthole or on the deck either arriving or leaving San Diego, we live here, but when we took the same cruise you are on two years ago, we thought San Diego has the most beautiful and impressive skyline.

If you do decide to go to Balboa Park, the natural history museum is neat, there is also an aerospace museum that he might like and not to be missed, the Rueben H Fleet Space theatre. Shows IMAX movies and also has a really cool science center with an area just for the little ones

I used to work there and when it rained the park was always empty. There is no real place to hide from the rain so be sure to dress for it. The only cool thing that I thought about working in the rain was the gorton's fisherman style rain outfit they had us dress in :)

The weather report for next week looks pretty good for you. A little spurt of rain on tuesday and wednesday and then the big rain comes in on Friday. Dress for the wet and you will be fine.
