If we are not supposed to resurect old threads, but we have a question about a certain topic, then why do we get flamed by others stating that we should look up old threads and basically not waste peoples times.

If you have a question that is not answered in an older thread, then when you ask it, you can say, "I read through older threads and couldn't find the answer to this question."

If you have a question that is based on an older thread, you can start a new thread, linking the older thread and then asking your question.

If the thread is only a month or two old, that's one thing, but when it's a couple of years old, or a four and a half year old thread, really no reason to resurrect it.

Of course, if you feel flamed, you can always report a post to the moderators, too.
