Thinking about taking a Disney cruise in November, and we just learned that infants aren't allowed into the family pool even with swim diapers on.

From what we have read there is a separate area for the infants...

My daughter will be almost 2 in November (2nd birthday is in February), however she is a real waterbaby as we go to the local pool here at least once per week as a family. My wife is concerned that my daughter will be upset if she sees her older sister (4 years old at time of travel) getting to go in the "big" pool while she doesn't get to. (My 2 year old bee-lines to the local indoor pool when we go as she loves the water and has no fear - yes that means my hands are on her almost constantly)

We couldn't find a good description of the pool for the infants or even a picture when we did search. Can anyone give us some info on it?

I don't have a picture available, but can describe it based on our experience on our last cruise with my nephew.

Imagine a mickey shaped pool. One ear is designated as the baby pool. It is a very shallow (like 1-2 inches of water) splash pool with small jets of water squirting from the side.

So long as she is still in diapers, she will not be allowed in the full pool area with her sister. Even if she is wearing a swim diaper. There are lifeguards present, and they do watch for kids in diapers.

For context, the reason has to do with health concerns and US Health regulations. At least twice that I know of on our cruise, they had to drain the kids pool completely and sterilize everything then refill it because a child (who probably should have been in a diaper and wasn't) had an accident in the pool.

Tony's description is very accurate. It is fun for the little kids. At the same time, it seems like every time we take a trip the Mickey pool ends up getting drained and refilled for one reason or another.

I know this can be a little disappointing, but it is a rather small pool area and I find that DCL is very health code oriented.

Thnx a bunch - I have seen pics of the Mickey pool so I now know exactly what you are talking about.

Truth be told I do not know how much time we will actually spend at the pool in any regards - there seems to be so much to do on the ship.
