'First' Mac OS X Trojan sighted (http://www.theregister.com/2006/02/16/mac_os-x_virus/) -- The Register
Antivirus researchers have discovered what's claimed to be the first computer Trojan to infect Apple Mac OS X computers. The malware, dubbed Leap-A, spreads via the iChat instant messaging system as a file called latestpics.tgz that infected machines send to contacts on an infected user's buddy list.

Well I guess it's a good thing that I can't get Google Talk to work with iChat... I wouldn't want that dastardly stan4d_steph sending me viruses...

LOL Adrienne. :D
And what if you don't use iChat? :D
Andrew, I think you brought this up just because of the Mac/PC thread... :p

Eh... it's about time. Mac users were always touting that they don't get viruses and stuff... and yah, it's because you're 10% of the market. It's not worth it for those loser virus creators to make viruses for Mac OS... but Mac users make it seem like their OS is so secure and what-not.
Yah, secure for something that doesn't really exist so far. :P I can't wait for more viruses to pop up for Mac just so those Mac cultists can eat their words.
... good god, what a horrible thing for me to say. I just said that I want more viruses... omg. ;)

I agree. Macs are just Pearl Harbor waiting to happen!
Windows PCs are hardened bunkers, fully prepared to fend off the onslot of shadowy attackers. Provided you are behind one hardware firewall, one software firewall, have a reliable Virus Scanner protecting your machine, Ad-Aware, Spybot, Windows Update set to Auto, wear tin foil over your head, etc, etc.
But at least us Windows users don't kid ourselves that we don't need to be vigilant at all times!

It just confirms something I'd always known: Instant messaging is evil.

Funny it's called "Leap-A".
Is that because it's the first virus to cross over to humans?
So, what does this do?
Does a pop up appear going "Nanner, nanner, nanner,....got you!"?
