Palo. Parrot Cay. Animator's Palate. Triton's/Lumiere's.

What's your pick for best DCL dining experience?
For me, there's just something about Animator's -- I've seen the "show" twice and I still am mezmorized....
What about you?

Gosh, this is a hard one... Sorry Niwel, just can't pick one... :)

I love Triton's menu selection and the overall "feeling" of the place. I love getting dressed up to go there. It just seems so upscale. And yes, I actually wear a tie there - and I never wear a tie.

Parrot Key is just a fun place to be, and is very casual. While an excellent place to eat, not my favorite.

Anamator's Pallate, I think, is the most unique experience I have ever had. Great food, neat "show" and is a highlight of the trip. I love how that room just lights up with color coordinated with the music in the background. I can never get tired eating there.

Never been to Palo but maybe next time. And there will be a next time. :)

Palo for brunch. No comparison.

I have to go with Parrot Cay. Animators Palette was nice but we were disappointed in the show. I think it had been too hyped to us that it was a let down.

I can't decide between the dinner restaurants, because I love them all, and they each have their own special charm. But, I'd say Parrot Cay is a little bit more special for me, as that's where we were during our first night, Pirate Night, and our last night, so it holds a place in my heart.

For lunchtime dining, I love Topsiders. :)

I enjoyed Animators Palate the most. :D

But, nothing on that ship could compare to Palo's chocolate souffle! I still dream of that scrumptious, decadent dessert! :D

The absolute best meal we had on our cruise was on the verandah of our stateroom. We had dinner sent up from the dining room that evening (mostly because we were so fed up with our server that we didn't want to deal with him any longer). It turned out to be pure serendipity: my husband and I enjoyed that meal more than anything else.

We did have a great rotation for our cruise: Parrot Cay for Pirates' Night and Lumiere's for formal night. I think those were the perfect venues for each theme night.

Of course, this is a YMMV thing, AVP. I was quite underwhelmed by brunch there. Dinner was far nicer, IMHO.

Not to hijack the thread, but sorry to hear about your bad experience. I hope your tip and comments on the comment cards reflected as such. I say that because I think the dining on DCL is a large part of the overall experience on the ship.

Yes, of course we made the appropriate comments/tip for this server. DCL never followed up with us, though, and I was disappointed somewhat by that.

But I did learn something from the experience. I *should* have made my displeasure known as soon as it began and been assigned elsewhere.

Live and learn...

Funny thing is that when we went last month, they were very verbal that if we believe that our dining experience was not the best it could be to let them know right away.

Who knows - maybe your comments made the servers aware of things.... :)

I thought we would like Palo best - and it was lovely. But we did Triton's both for lunch and dinner, and it was definitely my favourite - it's so elegant and the food is great. We liked lunch the best.

The first lunch - the buffet at Parrot Cay was fantastic too.

On the topic of bad servers though - we noticed that on our last night, the service really went down the pan, which was a shame.
