Does anyone know the character lineups for Disneyland Resort's character meals? Unlike WDW's character meals, which have specific lists of characters for each meal (in books such as the official and unofficial guides, and online in sites such as allearsnet.com), character lineups for Disneyland's character meals are rarely (if ever) listed anywhere. For example, Goofy's Kitchen is usually listed as "Goofy & friends", and Plaza Inn's character breakfast is almost always listed as "Princesses".

Here are the character meals I can think of now at Disneyland resort, to the best of my knowledge:

Goofy's Kitchen: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner (Disneyland Hotel)

Plaza Inn: Breakfast (Disneyland park)

Ariel's Grotto: Lunch, Dinner (Disney's California Adventure)

Storyteller's Cafe: Breakfast (Disney's Grand Californian Hotel)

PCH Grill: Breakfast (Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel)

Not sure if Disneyland Resort has character meals off property, such as the character meals at the Swan and Dolphin, Grosvenor, Wyndham Palace, and the Hilton near Walt Disney World.

Plaza Inn is Minnie and Friends, and when I was there, it were: Minnie Mouse, Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore, Cinderella's Fairy Godmother, Chip & Dale, Captain Hook

Ariel's Grotto are supposed to be Princesses right now

In December for us we had:

Goofy's Dinner - Chip, Goofy, Rafiki, Aurora (we had a bad experience here, not all characters came to our section)

Minnie's Breakfast - Minnie, Eeyore, Pooh, Tigger, Peter Pan, Wendy, Captain Hook, Chip and Dale

Our Oct. experience was not great either. We saw Goofy, Aladin, Donald and Snow White. Max was there but never made it to our section.

In October we went to the PCH Grill for breakfast and saw Lilo and Stitch, Minnie, Goofy,Pluto and Donald Duck. They were all dressed in hawaii or beach type clothing. They spent alot of time playing with the kids!

Our Oct. experience was not great either. We saw Goofy, Aladin, Donald and Snow White. Max was there but never made it to our section. The only problem with Goofy's Kitchen is that it's bigger (and really spread out sections with lots of tables close together) compared to other character dinning locations. So you have to spend more time there to really get a chance to see everyone. It also depends on parents who use the restraunt as a babysitter and *they* enjoy their dinner, but let their kids run around chasing the characters down instead of waiting like 80% of the other guests do for the characters to come to them. Even with all of the servers, all of the characters, and managers trying to get the kids to sit back down.

Don't get me wrong... I'm sure there are "bad" days, I'm just pointing out little things that might impact how many characters you see.

We were there over 1 1/2 hours. That should have been plenty of time to see everyone. We ate, then relaxed, then had dessert. Then sat there- waiting to see characters. We finally gave up and left. And the ones that did come by seemed like tired and like they were ready to go on break. It just wasnt the fun, upbeat experience we've had at the plaza.

We did Goofy's in November (along with Minnie's breakfast) and we had Goofy, Pluto, Alice, Peter Pan, Chip & Dale. We saw everyone, but had to "fight" a bit to get them to stop at our table as our table was near the doors they go out to take their breaks. The kids were getting very frustrated with the fact that they seemed to just keep "walking by" so I spoke to a manager and they were very kind about it and let us stay a bit past our seating time (we were the last seating before lunch - 11:30?) and all the characters came and played with our group. It may have helped that we had 19 total people and 11 kids that were doing their best to stay and wait for the characters instead of chasing them all around. Our kids would go and dance (my DD loves Peter Pan so she would admittedly go right for him and only him each time) when there was music, but then come back and wait and eat.

At Minnies, they put us in the rotunda area on either side of the Christmas Tree. Odd seating for a large group. We had the round tables on either side of the tree and a large rectangle in front of the tree. We saw Pooh, Eeyore, Minnie, Hook (too funny having my DD scream out CODFISH! when she saw him the first time - as the morning wore on, they became fast friends - to the point that we began teasing her that Peter would be jealous!), Chip & Dale and the Fairy Godmother. Pooh and the Godmother never made it to our table and we only got a photo of Pooh with my DD because I had my camera in my pocket when we were up getting food and he was walking through.

So, for anyone reading this still (thanks!) I have this advice - if you are in a large group - be patient. And if they put you in an area that the characters have a harder time getting to, say something to management. You are paying for the experience here a lot more than the food and you should be able to get the same experience as if you had the easier seats.

You're forgetting Mary Poppins at Goofys Dinner/December, and Nemo at Plaza Breakfast.

I must have gotten lucky, because they all came to my table two and three times, and some of 'em wouldn't leave.

Hey there ...

My girls are * and have always been * obsessed with Peter Pan ( & any PP character ) but the only character weve ever seen is Hook ! Ive often wondered why there isnt a Tinkerbell making apperances in the park ( any clues ? )

Sooo - if there is a shot of seeing Pan at a dining I will book there ... which restaurant are we most likely to see him at ?

I was actually JUST sitting down to call and book our Character Bk-fast at Goofys - but now with this thread Im starting to see a lot of people unhappy with it & Im starting to have second thoughts on it.

Maybe I should book at Plaza instead.
Weve been there before once though & it seemed to have mostly winnie the pooh characters & chip & dale.
We would rather go somewhere with the main gang.
( Donald, Mickey, goofy etc .. )

Were is the Minnies Breakfast that has been mentioned ?

& since were on the subject who do you think HAS THE BEST FOOD OF ALL OF THE SPOTS ???

Are some of the character dining restaurants more INTERACTIVE than others ?

It seems like Im reading about somewhere having singing / dancing involving the kids ? :)

Which one is this ????

bekky, the one with the best rated food is Storytellers at the GCH. Although I believe character "interaction" is limited (meaning no dancing/games?)

I believe all the others do have a bit of dancing and interaction. The only one I have done is the one at the PPH. There was limbo dancing, macarena, and some other fun games that the characters did with the kids.

Minnies is at the Plaza. I know it was Pooh and the gang in 2000 and in late 2004. Then it changed to Princesses for a short time. Now it is Minnie and Friends. You will NOT see Mickey at any of the meals. He just doesnt do breakfast I guess. LOL

For food- storytellers. Which is also great because you can choose between the buffet or the menu (you can do that at the lilo and stitch meal as well). Ordering off the menu will give you a cheaper character meal if you are on a budget.

Bekky -

Goofys has the singing and dancing. Peter was at Goofy's when we dined there on a Wednesday in November. Oddly enough, that was the 3rd time we saw Peter on that trip. On Monday, my daughter suddenly gasped and grabbed my hand and started tugging me along -- she had apparently seen him (Peter) and indeed she had. So her first autograph was his. Then we had breakfast with Minnie and saw Hook - so her second signature is Hook. Odd as this can be, Hook skipped a page and the next morning we saw Peter and Wendy on Main Street over by the fire station. How cool - Wendy's signature snuck right in between Hook and Peter!! So, yeah - 3 times in one trip. It seems like feast or famine with some characters. On a previous trip it seemed like Baloo was everywhere we went. This trip, we saw him on Main Street of all places and that was it.

Yes, to answer your question -- Goofy's is a buffet. A very good buffet if a little over priced. They serve all sorts of things including mickey waffles and the french toast is YUMMMMMMY. They also have mac and cheese and other non- breakfast fare. The trip in November we went for the 11am seating and made it our main meal of the day.

Storytellers - 2 weeks ago:
Koda - Kenai - Baloo - Rafiki - Chip - Dale - and an interesting Ranger character.
They were able to make the rounds of the whole place several times in the hour that I was there for breakfast. Not a lot of "fun and games" but they did make sure that a photo op was available if your table wanted it. It was fun and surprisingly not very crowded on a Sunday morning.

Nemo!?!? How do they do that???!!! Does anyone have a picture? :confused:yes, i'm wondering the same thing, and i haven't heard ever of Nemo being in the Park at all, so i think this is a mistake.

But we did just see Nemo skate last week (pictures (http://bricoot.smugmug.com/gallery/1158000/1/54041537)) with Disney On Ice, so anything's possible i guess.

Ariel's Grotto: Lunch, Dinner (Disney's California Adventure)

(i hope i'm doing this right, first time, sorry!)

I went to Ariel's Grotto this past weekend for my birthday. It was Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Wendy, and Snow White. Each of them stopped by our table and chatted a bit with us -- they were all very nice. I had a pirate shirt on, which "flustered" Wendy a bit :). I felt a wee bit silly, since the median age was...oh...12...but whatever, i'm young a heart :D. I got pix with each of them, and they all spent quality time with each of the tables of children there.

Food was fine, for Disney. Never enough spice, but that's the park, *shrug*.

You know too -- on Sat, there was a crazy amount of characters in the park. Around 2 PM on Main Street, there was Daisy, Baloo, a Penguin from Mary Poppins, Lilo, the racoon from Pochantos.

slight thread jack... DAISY!@! OH MY!! She is so rarely seen that I am jealous! And on just some Saturday in January too? Weird! Were they filming something that day somewhere at the park?

ok...that's all...

I suppose you're referring to Plaza Inn for Minnie's Breakfast, am I right? Also, nine seems like a LOT of characters for a meal! Did all of the characters stop by the guests' tables in the dining hall, or were there some characters who were outside the dining hall, where guests line up to meet and greet with them?
