I started Spring classes yesterday and I signed up for a Computer Fundamentals class because the university that I will be transferring to has it as a general requirement. Well this Computer Fundamental class isn't what I thought it was going to be. I thought it was going to be the fundamental things that have to do with computers, and that I would fly through it because being the daughter of a computer consultant I know a lot. This class is actually a course you take to see if you want to be Computer Science major. The teacher was going through what you could do with your Computer Science degree and blah blah blah and I just wanted to raise my hand and say I have no idea what is going on and I don't want a Computer Science degree...I'm just a dancer!!

So basically we are using the programs Alice and Editplus and we have Javascript for beginners books and after the first day I was so lost so I don't know what I am going to do until May 9th. Does anyone here know Javascript, and will let me PM them whenever I have question? Can somebody also give me a quick overview of it? Anything?

Is it too late to drop or transfer out? That would be my suggestion. Perhaps the professor has a suggestion for a more basic class that better suits your needs?

I can't drop because I need at least 12 credits to stay on my parent's medical insurance and that would drop me down to 11. The only reason I am going to stick it out is because I need to take it for the university I am transferring in to. I don't know what other way to say this except for 'Major Bummer'!

Danny Goodman's JavaScript Bible (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0764557432/disneinforguided/) is pretty much the definitive work on the subject. Please feel free to post questions in this forum (rather than PMing). Several MousePadders (including me) are quite familiar with JavaScript, DHTML, and associated technologies.
