:D I have only been to DL twice. We took the family for the first time in August. (it was great!!!!) I had learned a lot from reading these boards!
We are planning another trip in March, the 13-16. My DH will stay home this time and my 3 DD, my mother and stepfather and I will go. We have never been in the spring, so I am concerned about some of the events during non peak times. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!
Here are my questions: Do the parades run every day during the off season? we are planning to be there from a monday-thursday. What about fireworks? are they only on weekends? if so, would they be on a sunday night, or just friday/saturday? we could change our days to tuesday-friday to see fireworks. Do the shows run still? I saw on the DL website that playhouse disney times were listed, but none for aladdin. Bottom line is that I want my mom to see the parades, shows and fireworks. Do we need to be at DL on a weekend to see them?
I have also read how DL is open when it is raining. What rides/attractions shut down during rainy times?
Final question: we want to do a character meal. do the breakfast buffets have lunch type foods? i have one DD who will not touch an egg or sausage or lots of breakfast foods. which character meal is best??
THANK YOU SO MUCH for any advice! I want this trip to be as fun for my parents as it was for my kids in august!!:D

Keep checking the Disney website--as you get closer to your trip time, they should start listing the entertainment schedule. Fireworks will probably be only on Fridays and Saturdays. The Parade of Dreams will be every day--so you'll see that for sure. From what I've read the Electrical Parade will not be back until summertime. I'm not sure about Fantasmic! but I'm guessing they will show it on the weekend, including Friday. It's always a trade-off...fewer shows offered in the off season in exchange for much lighter crowds.

I have also read how DL is open when it is raining. What rides/attractions shut down during rainy times?

The Teacups, Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland, and I'm pretty sure Storybook Land boats close when it's raining hard.

I've only done breakfast at Storytellers--the food is great there. They will make waffles and pancakes in the kitchen to go along with the buffet--they're very accomodating. I'm sure you will get more feedback about the character meals here. Also, do a search in this forum on character meals and you will read lots of opinions.

I'm also going to suggest that you keep checking the website's calendar. You will be able to find out all the show schedules, rehabs, etc.

DL is great in the rain. Less crowds. Most of the rides stay open.

We like Goofy's Kitchen the best. I think they serve a brunch. Ariel's Grotto also serves lunch.

Currently Aladdin is not running on Monday or Tuesday.
Snow White is on hiatus until summer.

Do not count on Fireworks or Fantasmic during the week. They usually have them on the weekends at that time of year (Fireworks usually do not occur AT ALL during this time - but they probably will due to the 50th...)

Ariel's Grotto now has the Princess Dining experience.... This is for lunch and dinner.
If that is not your cup of tea - check out Goofy's Kitchen - Plaza Inn - or Yamabuki for other character dining options.
Keep check the Disney site calendar for more updated information....

I know you had a lot of questions, but for the last one, with chracter dining, I would highly recommend Goofy's Kitchen, it has the most variety being a brunch type setting. They have PB & J Pizza, and a whole bunch of other things that are not breakfast type foods. And, I have found you see the most variety of characters there. We have had different characters both times we have eaten there.
As for what is going on the time that you are there, I would, as it has been said already, check the website when it comes closer to your trip. If you have the chance to stay till Friday, I would do it, to make sure you can catch the fireworks, and pray it doesn't rain or isn't windy. (We had them cancelled all 4 days we were there when we went in November, it has been really windy lately.)
I hope you have a fabulous trip!!

I focus on the music at Disneyland, as my favorite thing.
So the "best day" is Saturday night.

• Club Buzz will have a pop/rock band.
• Carnation Plaza Gardens will have a Swing/Jump band.

Mid-week, some acts do not play.

I am almost sure one of the New Orleans Square music acts (River Rascals or Brass Bayou Band or Royal Street Bachelors) do not play for consecutive mid-week days.

The Miner Forty-Niners (in DCA, across from Grizzley River Run) take off Tue. and Wed., last time I looked.

PUSH, the talking Tomorrowland trash bin, has no "published" schedule, but I think PUSH only "works" weekends and holidays.

But BILLY HILL AND THE HILLBILLIES are full strength, seven days a week at the GOLDEN HORSESHOE!
You will see one "team" out of the four teams, but the act remains virtually unchanged, daily.
And that is a good thing.--You are guaranteed the "Orange Blossom Special".
You will have a "choice" of endings -- the Hillbilly Stunt Band (where they play each other's instruments, with one hand), or the Riverdance parody, "Puddle Prance" (where they move to "choreography" -- As the lead Billy explains, "We've never had any formal training in dance; but guess what -- it ain't that hard!")

I have seen "PUSH" out and about almost everytime I go, and it's usually on weekdays. He's great, and my son loves him!
