How fast is it? Can it be compared to the California Screamin in CA in DL? Thanx for the help.

I think the top speed is probably similar, but I think you go upside down more (California Screamin' is just the once, right? - pretty sure RnR has a spiral, too) - and average speed is probably faster - It's an indoor coaster, and I think the total duration is shorter as well.

The themeing, in my mind, doesn't compare (though I have problems 'buying' the idea of a wooden rollercoaster at the beach being a theme)

And I think they try a little harder to make sure the music stays running on all the cars (because it would loose quite a bit if it was gone).

And here is Cali:

The speeds are just about the same...

Being a DLR vet, I have always loved CA Screamin but when I went to WDW last month, I thought that RRC was much scarier, faster and more rough. We loved it and went on it several times. I think there is a difference between an inside and an outside coaster. Somehow, after riding RRC, CA Screamin was not that scary anymore, almost less thrilling.

I think my husband summed it up best when he said that CA Screamin was longer and smoother so you have time to catch your breath but RRC was constant drops, surprises and twists. We both prefer RRC to CA Screamin. It was one of our favorites at WDW!!

RnRC has one loop as soon as you take off and then a spiral shortly after. Then after that it is a lot of turns. I guess because I have been on it so many times it isn't very thrilling after the take off. I wish that after the two loops they would have done a large drop or one of those cobras (i think that is what it is called....when it spirals from the top to the bottom and you are almost on your side). I do have to say though it is the best indoor rollercoaster I have even been on.

I prefer California Screamin, but I like drops better than loops or corkscrews. It felt like I had to keep my head very still or else it would be slammed into the headrest. Screamin is much smoother.

LOL first inversion on RnR IS a cobra roll also known as a rollover.... not a vertical loop.

Wow! That is crazy looking when you see it outdoors! I thought it was different than that, but I guess not. Very cool!

Don't discount the MUSIC on the rock n roller coaster....

I know for me, the fast, loud, Aerosmith music that plays during the ride (which totally makes it IMO) somehow makes the ride seem faster than it probably is.

The beginning of the ride sets the whole scene: the Aerosmith music when you strap in, the super fast acceleration start into a big loop.

Probably only about 5 seconds total, but a VERY cool 5 seconds. I lllllllike it!
