Wow!
When was the naughty word filter changed to accept the word Penis?
Very interesting.
What do people think of the loosening of the filters, and therefore the content of mouse pad?
What are the changes in policy now that our messages are more in line with PG rather than G rated language?
You notice I starred out the word Penis in the headline. I guess I don't stoop to Al's tactics.

I was actually trying to figure out what word that was supposed to be-- if you put too many stars in, does that mean you misspelled P****?

Okay, I personally question the validity of defining any word as a "naughty word", but on the scale of things, penis should never be classified as naughty. It's a body part people. Guess what, Kuzcotopia, you have one, I have one, all the young boys who read this board have one. And, if a parent has done anywhere near a decent job raising their children, any young girl old enough to browse the internet unsupervised has heard the word and knows what it is. Classifiying 'penis' as a naughy word is ludicrous. Would you classify 'thigh' or 'waist' or 'leg' or 'arm' as naughty? Come on.
I can handle blocking the f-word, s-word, etc. These are pretty much exclusively used to be crude and insult people, and that has no place on this board. But blocking the name of a body part is not necessary.

Uh, I always though that Penis was the appropriate word for the male apendage.
What non-naughty term would you prefer? I can think of a whole host of euphamisms ranging from the vulgar to the silly.
That uniquely masculine body part that we dare not mention? Or do we go for the child-friendly, "Pee Pee"?
For a definitive response, maybe we'd better turn to:

I'm with Kuzcotopia, simply in wondering if the filter was changed to accomodate the newly mouseplanet-utlized word for the exclusively male body part, or if the filter was always accepting of that perfectly acceptable anatomical term.
Personally, while I certainly see why the infamous f-word and its ilk should be blocked, I have found the filter to be a little overboard on ocassion. Once, in relaying a story about the Matterhorn, I tried to use the word h**ny, which I think is not really a dirty word and could just have easily been referring to a rhinocerous or the brass section of an orchestra.
I'm all for loosening up the standards and just blocking out the curse words and whatever sexually-related terms that are(according to mouseplanet standards) too vulgar to be posted.

I believe the Disney-acceptable form of H**ny is "Twitterpated"
I hope people appreciate that we understand the difference between clinical terminology and derogatory descriptions/extreme profanities.

If the censor list was altered recently to accommodate this word recently, I was not informed of it.

Am I the only one who doesn't particularly want a 9 yr old dtr, who logs on MP to read Magic Years to see the word P***s in a headline?
It is my opinion that the word isn't a 'dirty' word, it just doesn't belong in MP headlines.
