Anyone here do video editing on the computer? I'm embarassed to admit that I've had a digital video camera for 4 years and have yet to sucessfully edit any video. I actually didn't have enough space on my hard drive on my old computer and bought an additional hard drive for it just for my video and photo storage, but I never really did anything with it. I think I've got Ulead software of some sort, I don't even remember exactly. I'd like to get something that is quick, very simple, and good quality.

Oh, and can you tell me how to get my still pix from my video camera onto my computer??? I have no clue!!! :geek: hahaha I have a Canon ZR20 if it matters.

It would help those recommending software if you would post your operating system and other important computer information, like amount of RAM, processing speed, video card etc.

Wendi, you might want to check out Sony's Vegas video editing software. I use Vegas pro extensively at home find it to be very powerful, easy to use (and most importantly, very stable).

I just got done putting a project together using the home version (the Vegas Movie Studio + DVD package, specifically), the only difference I noticed compared to the pro version is that the home version seemed a little bit slower.

I believe they offer a free 30 day trial for download:
