Maybe now Jessica can get the help for her tanorexia that she so desperately needs.

Did anyone think this one would last? Did they even think so? Those two are beyond cynical. We need a whole new word to describe a couple that would televise the first year of their marriage, then spend a lot of time apart.

LMAO! :D

I never thought it would last. When I hear that Annette and Warren or Paul and Joanna break up-then I will be sad.

Especially Paul & Joanne! That would be like Paul & Linda McCartney, if Linda hadn't passed away.

Yeah, big surprise.

I thought it was interesting how it appears that they have been having problems for quite awhile, then they wait until a big holiday weekend to make their "announcement". Really smells of publicity to me. Mr. Pooh said, "Of course, everyone will be home watching TV this weekend."

I think that the average couple, unless there were serious marital problems (like physical abuse or something) would probably wait until after the holiday or even the whole holiday season before announcing a split.

Great. Do we get another whole year of headlines like:

"Are they having second thoughts?"
"What the final straw was!"
"Who is Nick/Jessica seen around town with lately?"
"Who helped break them up?"

And on it goes.

I think the only good thing about it is that maybe we will get a break from Brad/Jennifer/Angelina.

Here's the real question...Who cares?

My apologies to anyone here who actually knows them personally and is affected by their break-up.

Sorry. It's newsworthy because ya'll read it. Stop reading the trash-rags and bury your nose in a Wall Street Journal instead.

Or, how about this? How about getting off your high horse and let the people who want to read Entertainment Weekly and People read and discuss whatever they want, and if you’d like to exclusively read the Wall Street Journal, go right ahead?

Out of curiosity, if you don't care, why are you in this thread?

I'm here, cause I can be, no other reason.

And nowhere did I say I exclusively read the WSJ, merely pointing out that there are other sources available for news-stories that don't involve the personal goings-on of people we don't know.

BTW, I do not ride, but my daughter does.

I'll come out and say it: I'm sad they split. They always seemed so in love (at least in the beginning), and there's a part of me that likes to believe that you really can fall in love and marry your first true love and have it work out. I kind of blame Disney movies for that ;)

I really enjoyed their reality show because it was as "real" as you can get for MTV. It was Jessica being a doofus and Nick being a typical "dude" and the trials and tribulations of people in relationships in that age set. I mean, really, at some point everyone has a "is it chicken or is it fish?" moment about SOMETHING.

I think if they weren't famous, their marriage probably would've lasted longer, but media has a way of wearing you down and intensifying everything. I am very sorry for both of them and I hope it doesn't become some big hostile catfight between them, that somehow they can still remain civil through it all.

I'm sad but it for the best that they split up.

I dunno, every picture I saw of Nick in the last few years, he had a fake smile on, and his eyes looked dead to me, like the marriage ended long before.

Well, except for the time I saw him filming a video with a bevy of scantily clad babes, that was a genuine smile! :~D

He was probably sad because all the attention was on his wife...and not him.

He career...is nothing. At least compared to hers. Even his last album was a bomb.
He is BIG now, because he married her. Bottom line...she saved his sagging butt career.

She'll still go on. 10 years from now...we'll say "Nick Who?"

You could see the changes in their relationship through the seasons of their show. I heard Jessica was the one who wanted to end it but you really can't believe any of the gossip you hear.
