Does anyone know if the Fantasmic! reserved riverside seating is wheelchair accessible? Or could one transfer from a wheelchair to a chair in that area?
I know there is a wheelchair viewing area - but the view is not that good.
Would like to get balcony seating- but if we can't wondering if Riverside is an
option?

We watched from right behind the riverside location a few weeks back - and you should not have to transfer from your wheelchair to their seats - they were moving the chairs around even after guests were there for some reason, so THAT shouldn't be an issue (unless there is some size problem with the chair, but it seems they could accomodate you if you were not there too late).

But unfortunately, I didn't pay attention to the availability of ramp access to that area or not. Sorry.

If you are talking about the dessert package viewing area, yes, it is completely accessible. You can transfer, or stay in your chair (in the second row).

The Disney Gallery balcony seating is NOT accessible - you can get a manual or electric wheelchair (NO ECVs) to the Gallery through the back elevator (and get a tour of the Club 33 prep kitchen while you are there), but there is a step down onto the balcony with no ramp. You must be able to walk about 20 steps to your seat.

FYI, they had no probems bringing my mother up to the Gallery via the elevator in her ECV last June.

Annie, AVP addressed this a few posts up....with the only 'inconsistancy' is that in fact you can take an ECV up to the gallery area, you can't take anything but a manual chair out onto the balcony due to a step. If you have someone who can manuever the manual down/back up that step you can in fact take a chair out to the balcony but they do ask that the person transfer to the seats because they are smaller than wheelchairs and it is very close quarters up there.

Thanks for all of the info. I now am prepared. Now just have to get my dialing finger ready.

Also, does anybody know if there is a decnt place anywhere for people
in a wheelchair to view the fireworks. I know we should be able to somewhat
see them from the Fantasmic! seating if we get that- but if not- any suggestions - as it is tough when everyone is standing.

Actually, they don't. Since it is in the sky, they figure it is visable from everywhere. I don't agree, but that is what they say.

In regards to viewing fireworks, the area around it's a small world is not very crowded and the projection effects on the small world facade are very good IMHO. It's not as good as the hub, but honestly not feeling like a sardine during fireworks is worth it enough to me to go over there and watch.

I've seen the show from that area a couple of times and while you miss some of the show elements (i.e. the haunted mansion effects, you only see some of tinkerbell, etc.) they try to make up for it with the projections on the facade.
