Looks pretty cool from this description:

...but I'm in London right now and since my Verizon CDMA cell phone is pretty much DOA over here, I won't be able to try it out 'til I get back home. :(

Doesn't support Treo/Blackberries. :(
That stinks.

When I tried to download this yesterday it crashed my phone's browser twice. Today no problems.
I played with it for a few minutes. The defualt screen is like Google Maps, with the zooming functions. Kind of fun. But you do need a fairly fast data connection. I have EDGE so it works pretty well. Apparently some phones can also display satellite pictures, just like Google Maps. Sadly my phone is not one of them.
Haven't used the directions, movie times, or other local functions yet. Looks pretty cool though.

There is a freeware tool called KMaps (http://www.alealea.com/) that works both on Blackberrys and Palm OS devices (including Treos) that essentially provides the same sort of mobile front-end to Google Maps. In fact, since that application is Java-based and has been around for a few months, I wonder if Google just licensed it and adapted it for other devices.

Yeah, I used that on the 650.. Just really slow. Not really worth it, unfortunately.

I just went to get started and this popped up:
At this time, Local for mobile doesn't support BREW-enabled phones (e.g. Verizon, Alltel, U.S. Cellular), Nextel phones, Blackberry devices or Palm devices.
So I'm outta luck too, with my new Verizon Motorola E815. :(
Maybe someday.
