Hey ya'll!! Have any of you here been to the chapel by the lake at Knott's Berry Farm? Well, that's where I was married in 2000!
Of course I wanted to get married at DL, but $$$$$$$$$$$ was not there, so I went for Knotts!
Just wanted to start this thread for all those people out there who are planning to be married, and want to find an inexpensive but nice place to be married, go for Knotts!! It was great!
Plus, if your wedding coordinator is really nice (like mine was) she will let you sneak off during the rehearsal to go ride a few rides for free! I ran from my rehearsal and went to ride Supreme Scream! I just love that ride!!
Bummer thing...you can't ride any rides while in your wedding outfits!
Traci -- I didn't even know you could get married at Knott's. Sounds like you had a great time. Congratulations! :)
If you are willing to wear unorthodox outfits, you can ride those rides. People get married while running marathons and stuff, too!

Yeppers, you can marry at Knotts, and you are actually inside the park walking through crowds of people to get to the chapel.
It was funny cause people were asking if I worked there, or was I really getting married!
I would post a pic, but I don't think this site allows that, or does it?

We had actually considered getting married at Knotts in the Chapel but decided against it because of the crowds of extra people around in the park.
I am glad to hear you had a great day. Congrats!

Hmmm.
You have reminded me of something I wanted to do.
I am trying to plan a special event for our twentieth anniversary.
{Agh, I just fell out of my chair typing that!!!}
Next year will be 20 and I am in 'charge' of planning what we do to celebrate.
I am thinking of re-newing our vows. I was thinking of Vegas and a little chapel. But, I like that chapel so much!!!
Was it very expensive? I think I will skip over to the Knott's site and see what I can find out!
Thanks for the reminder!!!
{How convenient, our kids can stand up for us!!!}

I would do it Mousewife!! How often do you have a 20th??! :D
It was fairly inexpensive and you contact the events coordinators at the Radission Buena Park and ask for current prices.
I loved being there with the crowds and such. And it's not a hassle cause you get ushered in and out by the coordinators and your guests go into the park by way of the exit cause their names on a list they keep of your wedding guests.
All our friends thought it was a great idea!

I will definitely look into it.
I also checked the Ponderosa Ranch. I thought the deal was pretty good but hubby didn't like it. :(
If he scraps the idea of renewing vows then I found a place called The Mission Inn up north from us a bit. It looks beautiful and they offer packages. Only thing is I don't know what is in the area for entertainment.
This is a family board so I won't go there. ;)

Those hubby's you can live with em, you can't shoot em! :D
My husband wouldn't smile for any of our wedding photos cause he is such a grump and said that someone has to make him smile or he won't smile for a pic. What a dork huh?
What part of San Diego are you from? My parents live in Escondido (San Pasqual area).

My hubby is the same way. He never smiles. Makes me sooo mad.
I live far south in Chula Vista. Ooo, it gets pretty cold up there in Escondido.
Yup. Can't shoot 'em. Isn't that a fact? After 20 years, though, I am finally starting to just do what I want and too bad for him if he doesn't like it. But, a wedding, that he would have to participate.
