I'm just trying to get a sense of whether I should be thinking about planning any sort of meet. For the last three years I've attended the Penguin meets, but last year we had a few MousePlanet folks attend it, too, and some Penguins wondered if it was a combo event. Since it wasn't, it dawned on me at the time that perhaps it might be good to have our own little get-together. It would give us a chance to visit in person and I could give out MousePlanet buttons you can wear during your marathon.

The tough part this time around is figuring out when is the best time. I am considering maybe late afternoon on Saturday, and those who did the half can have it be a post-event supper, while those who are doing the full can do it as a carbo-load meet. What do you think? Would it be better to do it on Friday instead? Any thoughts?

More than likely it would be on property. The Penguins are considering one of the Value Resort cafeterias (one of the cavernous All-Star cafeterias) because it lets people eat whatever they want, it's cheap, and we won't need reservations. It probably won't be crowded and those who don't want to eat can just stop by... and being on property there will be Disney transportation.

What do you think? Do you want to do something like that?

Pepper Market might be a place to consider. People can eat or not eat and the options are more interesting that simple cafeterias.

That's the one at Coronado Springs? I think they are open all afternoon so that might be a good idea. A bit out of the way, but not unmanageable.

I'd like to toss my vote in for Friday afternoonish @ the Pepper Market. Most of us will be there to be checking out the expo and picking up our registrations - right?

I'd LOVE to meet you all....I'm only doing the 1/2 on Saturday - and have already planned a dinner Saturday evening with my family. And I'm skipping the awards ceremony.

So...if you do have it, and I can make it I will.

Yeah, I'ld come. I'm coming in Thursday pm, so either Friday afternoon or Sat. pm would work. That might be just the thing to help keep me out of the parks while I'm trying to conserve energy :) It'll be fairly easy to get to Coronado from Boardwalk - I can just grab a bus from either Epcot or the Studios.

I have a dinner commitment at Chef Mickey's late Friday afternoon but I may be able to squeeze something in.

They used the Coronado a few years ago when the Milkhouse at the Wide World of Sports was being used for another function.
