I am going to DW in June and for one of the nights I am staying at the Poly in the concierge. I would like some imput as far as if it worth the extra $$$$$ to stay there, my concern also is that it is much older then the rest of the Disney properties.

Gail -- when I wrote an article about Concierge service at Disneyland, I got quite a bit of email feedback, including one from Mary Kraemer. You can read her comments here (http://www.mouseplanet.com/lani/mailbag_0008.htm) -- basically, she raved about her Concierge experience at the Poly. You'll have to decide if it's worth the extra bucks, though.

I can address the "much older than the rest of the Disney properties" issue.

- Those original properties have a certain appeal and charm simply because of their heritage.

- Disney has such an aggressive refurbishment schedule that no resort is ever truly old. The Polynesian just completed a major, complete rehaul last year, so the rooms, pool, and other public areas are like new.

- Don't underestimate the convenience of being on the monorail loop and within a short walk to the TT&C! I've gotten used to staying at bus resorts, but the monorail access is a huge advantage.

- Finally, I think the Polynesian has the best theming in the entire resort (yes, WL and AKL are wonderful too!). Every time I go there I still feel worlds away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of WDW. The Imagineers truly captured the spirit and sense of the south seas!
