I think it's cute...of course i'm one of those poeple who enjoy and welcome change...:)
90% of the people on here don't like change. :~D They'd rather have a parking lot then a theme park. :p

The push for pre-publicity of the movie is unprecedented.
I was at DCA a month ago (a MONTH ago!!) and saw the character ABBY MALLARD inside the ANIMATION building doing (awaiting?) photo ops.
(No takers! No wonder!)
(Why is Disney putting out constumed characters of unknown characters for photo ops?)
Holy cow! What a scary looking character!
The character is supposed to be female.
But the crazy eyes make the character look insane!
("Come here, child, I want to eat you.")
Let's keep score at MousePlanet:
How many ugly characters appear in the movie CHICKEN LITTLE?
We have nailed down two.
:(
I will see the movie, even if it gets Two Thumbs Down from E-burp and Rope Burns.
I've got to see the evidence for myself.

For what it's worth, Abby Mallard is "The Ugly Duckling" .. So that explains her look. The characters have been out signing autographs most of the summer.

I believe Disney calledtheir parking lot "California" (Ouch!)
And that is meant to be a joke folks before someone kicks off....

All they need to do now is dump McDonalds, work a sponsorship deal with Burger King, and add a copy of that creepy big king-head in the TV commercials next to the chicken.
a great promo for an updated 'crispy chicken sandwich.'
I just find that perversly funny.

I thought they put those big displays down by the movie theater in DTD? Why over the park? Oh well....

Why not just drop the other shoe and go for a tie-in with KFC? I'll take my Chicken Littles Extra Crispy!

I love it. Hope it's still there in November.
The trailer looks cute, I can't wait to see it. (I'm also one who loved Brother Bear and Home on the Range!)

Considering the film opens November 4, I would expect it would still be there until at least mid to end of November.

DCA: Digital Chicken Adventure!
LOL!
After reading thru to the end of the posts, I finally looked at Darkbeer's photos. The posts tempered my expectations because the photos made me laugh too.
I think CL has a lot of baggage with it among us animation fans to fight against. I plan to check the chick out and give it a fair shake tho'. Disney marketing's just doing what it's supposed to to help promote this chick flick. ;) IMO it does look funny, in an out-of-place sort of way. Frankly, there's too much advertising in the Esplanade for my tastes, so the addition is just more of the same but in 3D.

Looking at CL that large seems like reverse promotion, it would scare a child from ever wanting to see the movie... it will bring on nightmares.

Well, it's better than the giant orange cone they had out front when Block Party Bash debuted. That was awful, with the blaring monitor ruining the nice music in the plaza. Someone please tell me there's no monitor anymore....

The noise was a bit much in the Esplanade, but actually I enjoyed the giant orange pylon as a compliment to the theming of the parade; perhaps flashing lights would've been a decent alternative to the audio. That said, it took me four months to finally have any interest to go see BPB, which I ended up enjoying.

Very tacky! Like I want THAT in any of my photos. Good thing I don't take many of the front of DCA anyway.
I think if that thing was looming over Disneyland, there would be a riot. Or maybe just people with bows and arrows trying to pop it!

Thanks Darkbeer!
Well, now I can see it looks like CL is standing behind the entrance looking over the crowd. Kinda like Chickenzilla. Very scary!
