Recent article in the LA Times talked about Vivendi's recent annual report - seems that many investors are wondering how they are going to tie in all of their various acquisitions .........

Anybody out there share the belief that maybe these guys got a little too ambitious and moved a little too fast before they did their homework and now they might find themselves in a bit of a pickle?

Only interested from the standpoint that if these guys mess up they might have to cut costs or hamper their park operations and park investments due to financial contraints ...........

One other quickie on Universal - USH has extended their "promotion" of buy a regular 1-day park ticket and get a whole year's admission for free through end of April ............

Things must be really slow over at the ol' studio these days .......

And if you offer a "promotion" for fully one-third of the year does that make it a promotion or a policy? Seems to me they might as well just post the ticket as "year-long pass for $43" ...........

A good point about the "buy a day, get a year" promotion, and I wholeheartedly agree. Haven't yet heard any rumblings about extending it past April, however...

In somewhat the same vein, USH is now advertising a policy that, until now, existed but was little-known: "rain plan." If it rains, you can go to GR and get a FREE return ticket good for 30 days. The fine print, which is not mentioned in the ad, is that it either has to rain 1/8" (are employees supposed to measure this?) or shows have to be cancelled due to rain for this policy to be in effect. You can just imagine the lines at Guest Relations...
