Disney Cruise Line Completes Disney Magic Dry Dock

New to the Ship: Spa Villas, Ocean Quest Children’s Area,
Jumbo Movie Screen and Expanded Fitness Center

CELEBRATION, Fla. (Oct. 15) – Disney Cruise Line continues to expand its onboard offerings for adults, children and families with several new enhancements on the Disney Magic. Adult guests sailing on the 2,700-passenger ship will find a renovated Vista Spa and Salon with lavish indoor/outdoor “spa villas” and an expanded fitness center. Young cruisers will enjoy a new dedicated space for youth activities on deck 2 and a jumbo LED screen on the forward funnel will entertain families with poolside movies. The Disney Magic returned to service on Saturday, Oct. 15 following a 10-day dry dock period.

Vista Spa and Salon
Already known as an innovator in the cruise industry, Disney Cruise Line introduces a cruise industry first with its Vista Spa and Salon expansion. At the spa, guests will find three specifically designed spa villas – complete with an indoor spa treatment suite which is connected to a private outdoor verandah with personal hot tub, open air shower and luxurious chaise lounge. With incredible ocean vistas and warm tropical breezes, the new treatment suites provide guests with a romantic getaway into a tranquil oasis without ever leaving the ship.

The spa villas offer a variety of treatments -- for individuals or couples -- and guests will have ample time rest and relax on the outdoor verandah. Treatments range from a 105-minute individual Swedish massage treatment to the ultra soothing 150-minute “Ultimate Indulgence” treatment for couples.

As part of the Vista Spa expansion, the fitness area doubled in size, providing space for more exercise equipment, an area for spinning classes and a couple of private salons for Pilates instruction and one-on-one beauty and fitness consultations. The Vista Spa and Salon is an area reserved exclusively for adults aboard the Disney Magic. The expansion adds an additional 1,700-square feet to the fitness center, bringing the total size of the Vista Spa to 10,700-square feet.

Ocean Quest
Adding to the already incredible offerings for children, Disney Cruise Line transformed three conference rooms on deck 2 of the Disney Magic into a brand new hang-out for kids called Ocean Quest. Ocean Quest features a scaled replica of a ship’s bridge, complete with LCD screen “windows” that let children look out over the bridge via live video feed from the actual bridge. Here children can sit in a traditional captain’s chair and participate in a simulation game where they steer a cruise ship in and out of various ports of call.

With a nautical feel, Ocean Quest provides the perfect location for children to “chill-out” and play computer or video games, participate in arts and crafts, or watch a movie on one of the multiple plasma screen televisions in the room. This expansion gives the Disney Magic a fifth dedicated location for children -- existing venues include Flounder’s Reef Nursery, Oceaneer Club, Oceaneer Lab and The Stack.

Goofy Pool Jumbo Screen
Disney Magic guests will enjoy poolside movies on a brand-new, state-of-the-art jumbo LED screen affixed to the forward funnel on deck 9. At the Goofy Pool (family pool area), families can gather and watch classic Disney animated or live-action movies on the giant 24-by-14-foot screen. Other programming will also be available, such as popular TV shows, major sporting and broadcast events, and the 336-square foot screen will greatly enhance outdoor entertainment and deck parties in and around the Goofy Pool area.

A leader in the family cruise segment, Disney Cruise Line offers three-, four- and seven-night itineraries to the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Land/sea vacation packages that include a stay at the Walt Disney World Resort are also available. Both the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder will embark on new itineraries in 2006, with the Disney Magic including a seven-night alternate Western Caribbean itinerary making two stops at Castaway Cay, while the Disney Wonder will sail two first-ever 10- and 11-night itineraries to the Southern Caribbean.

Do you think they will do the same to the Wonder?

Most likely so. This thread has my 2 cents. (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?t=46621) :)
