Hey everyone,

Took some new pics from the construction site of SFMM's new B&M Flyer yesterday. At the moment, it is still a lot of dirt and land clearing. But you can see they have started marking off some areas for footers and they have the steel ready to go. Here's yesterday's photos:

And photos from about a week ago showing some of the track and the new flyer parts that have arrived:

Also, that October 8th update shows a bit of the development going on in front of the park, which I'm now told has been zoned for "retail and residential."

While I can't imagine houses going into that area it would be nice to get a few more restaurants within walking distance of the park.

Enjoy the updates!

Always interesting to see what MM is up too, certainly an improvement over the parking lot location of Scream. Also great to have another B&M ride in the park. Love their rides.

The "entrada" development area is interesting too. I can only hope that SF inc. was forward thinking enough to be one of the new tenants taking over land in that area. I can't imagine anyone living in a condo or luxury apt. with SFMM on side and the freeway on the other. So I'm kind of keeping my fingers crossed that when they announce Tatsu they also announce a SF branded hotel taking up in that area, much like they are doing in other parks across the country.

If you go onto the LA county Assessor's site, you can see the home sites for the Entrada development. The Old Road and MM Pkwy are also going to be realigned eventually.

The 2005 assessed value of SFMM property is over $140 million dollars and the annual property tax around $1.5 million.

What is interesting to note, the entrance, where you drive to the parking booths, is not owned by SFMM. They are only allowed to use it. I remember reading somewhere that the entrance was or is supposed to be moved off of Feedmill Road after the eventual extension of MM Pkwy is done when Newhall Ranch is built in the future.

Good map. Some of those locations for homes are really bad (the 17's). Freeway close, noise pollution from MM, and near a flood hazard! Sounds like a recipe for disaster.
