From the San Diego Zoo:

Kid's Free Days
October 1 thru 31
The Zoological Society of San Diego was founded October 2, 1916. In honor of our special birthday month, children ages 3 to 11 receive complimentary admission to the San Diego Zoo, when accompanied by an adult, during the month of October! Check out some of the Zoo's youngsters, including cheetah and tiger cubs, young pygmy chimps, and our 2-year-old giant panda. And be sure to visit the Zoo's Children's Zoo with its touchable animals and colorful gardens.

Visit http://www.sandiegozoo.org/zoo/index.html for more info!!!

The SD Zoo is looking fantastic these days--if you have an extra day during a DL trip, it's totally worth the drive down, especially with kids free this month. :)

That's awesome. We were not planning on doing the zoo this trip. We were planning on going to SD for a couple of days and doing Leoland. Maybe we will do the zoo too. Whoo hoo.

So far it hasn't been too bad on the weekdays... nothing like it normally is in the summer! An average summer weekday has about 7000-9000 guests. On 10/5 there were less than 5000. Even over this past weekend, attendance stayed under 10,000.

Unfortunately we can't go on weekedays. Pesky jobs and school!
