I would say either, but Knott's is closer and cheaper. Knott's has a great kids area called Camp Snoopy. And you can get a great meal at Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant after you leave the park.

I agree on Knott's. We are taking DS 8 to Legoland before he gets too old but I think a three year old would enjoy Camp Snoopy more. Legoland also has height restrictions on some rides which may or may not effect you.:)

I went to Knott's yesterday. I was pretty disapointed. Maybe it was because it was a Saturday, but there were a lot of teens running a muck and making out all over the park and using foul language, well, even the ADULTS were cussing loudly. One mother yelled at her small child right there in Camp Snoopy, "GET YOUR A** BACK HERE NOW!" Another time, I turned a corner in Camp Snoopy to find a mother holding her child by the arm, and spanking her bottom continuously! My youngest couldn't stop looking! :(

It's not as nice/clean as Disneyland (we've been VERY spoiled). I even noticed the safty standards weren't as high as DL. Like the log ride, you walk right up to the canal, no safty gates at all. If you aren't holding onto a small child, they could easily just fall in! The safty measure I saw the most was a "yellow line" and everyone was told to stay behind the yellow line. :s

I agree that Camp Snoopy was the saving grace for us. I have an almost 7 year old and she loved all the "small rides". Most were the same as the big ones, just small scale. That's a big plus, as she see's her sisters going on the big rides, but she can't. My husband took our big girls on the big rides, and I stayed in Camp Snoopy with our youngest.

We have never been to LegoLand, so I can't comment on it. If it were me personally, I would upgrade your pass to include an additional day at Disneyland. That way you can take a break during the days and not get so tired out. Our first year I think we must have had 3 day passes but DCA wasn't open yet. It was a FULL 3 DAYS. The next year I think we got 5 days and were able to take it slower. Now, this is our 6th trip here, and we actually have 8 days in the park, with a break on the weekend to re-coup. ;) (my girls are 12, 10 & almost 7, now WE need the breaks, not them)

what ever you choose, I am sure you'll have a great time. I think I just had too high of expectations of Knotts?! I couldn't stand the filth there either. Spider webs in the food booths.. even the snack stand I went to, the counter was covered in churro sugar/cinn. That was gross to me. Even the grafitti (sp?) on the walls just irked me. Again, we've been spoiled by DL.

Our family has had annual passes for Legoland for years for good reasons. I love the clean, park-like relaxed setting of this theme park. I first started taking my son when he was just 2, and he was able to ride nearly every ride at that time. He loved it when he was 2 and he still loves it now that he's 7. The park has adjusted the height requirements since it opened but your child should have no problems getting on most of the rides.

Legoland is geared toward the little ones - 10 & younger. They even have a Duplo area with fun things for the littlest ones. Their Dino area is always a hit with the little kids as well, and your child could ride the coaster there.

Legoland is very clean compared with Knott's and there are generally very few teens in the park. In fact, we have never had a negative experience with another guest in all the times we've been. The crowds are pretty light and there is rarely a long wait for any of the attractions - 10 minutes max, so your little one won't get antsy.

So, overall Legoland is cleaner and safer and more smaller child friendly in my opinion. Hope this helps in your decision making.

Wow Guys, Thanks For The Advise, It Sounds Like No Matter What We Choose We Will Have A Good Time. Maybe I Will Leave It Up To The Little Guy, 3 Year Olds Do Seem To Know What They Like.

Thanks Again.

Legoland is a GREAT kids park - nothing else like it anywhere. You can do the Snoopy area in Knotts - or you can have an entire park ;)

If your 3 year old is 36" there's a ton to do at Legoland. My three year old rode Coastersaurus (see avatar, she's with her sister) 6 or 7 times in a row a couple of weeks ago and cannot stop talking about it.

Most of the small rides are for duos only. If you are by yourself with 2 kids who can't ride by themselves, you are so out of luck. I can remember only 2 rides we could go on. The rest of the time was looking at stuff and shopping and playing with the water. That's not much for the money we spent. One kid is way better and the park is geared for one adult with one child. So two parents with two kids would be fun. Otherwise, forget it. Go to Knotts.

My 2 and 3 year old prefer Knott's over Legoland. I mean they like Legoland but they get a bit more excited when they are about to go on the rides at Knott's. We pretty much stay at Camp Snoopy when we go which is fine by us. If you are into thrill rides, I suggest going to the adult rides first ...my personal favorite is GhostRider.

Please note that the week you are going to be here, Knott's has there Tribute to Veterans where current military or veteran plus one guest will be given free admission. From my experience during that month, it is VERY crowded! There are lots of current and former military personnel that go to Knott's with their families....meaning...lots of kids!

Mrs.newseditor - That Is Really Good Information About The Knotts Park Being Busy. Do You Think That Will Affect The Crowds At Disneyland?
