First, I am not a Disney company rep. I am presently working as a contractor in Iraq providing security for people who feel they need this type of service. I have seen people complain, get irate about their treatment, expound about how important they are because the are AP's, stay at the resort hotels, etc. I complain also. But, how many people on this board support Disney by purchasing Disney Corp stock. Since we have no clue how the park's operating budget works, the way to insure Disneys future is to become a stock holder. It is not a thrill ride, a dark ride, a show, etc...it is only a peice of paper. It is a financial committment to the future of the "Happiest place on Earth."
Have a fantasmic day.

Standing by for this to be moved to the "Business of Magic" forum. But in the mean time,
I own about 200 shares of Disney. I bought it four years ago for $24 a share. Since then, it has gone as high as $29 a share. When I checked a few days ago it was ...
$24 a share. :| Not exactly an exciting investment. Like any stock, investors should plan on staying in for the long haul. You likely won't get rich quick by buying Disney. On the positive side, Disney isn't likely to file bankruptcy or go out of business any time soon.

I agree, if you have any inside tips. please post.LOL I also have shares, about 500 purchased 22 years ago when I got married for the 5th time. Figured I would need it when I got divorced again. We can control bad management other than selling or buying stock and making our opinions known as shareholders.
Have a great day.
I have a few thousand shares of Disney stock that I have had for some time. This is one of the few things in my portfolio that I refuse to sell. The rest is open to advice from my advisor, but the Disney shares are off limits! ;)

Just owning stock won't insure the future of Disney. What they need is revenue. If you really feel the need to help them out, forego the annual pass and just pay full price every time you go to the park. And when you get there, buy T-shirts, light-spinny-thingys, mickey mouse ears, and churros, lots of churros.
Personally, although I've had an annual pass for almost a year now, I've never felt that it somehow gave me the right to complain any more than any other guest. Actually, the people that make one trip a year and pay full fare probably have more of a right to expect everything to go as close to perfect as possible.

I do not think that I inferred that buying stock was a solution but an avenue to invest in something you believe in. I just made a very long trip in August to go to Disneyland with my family and the only thing that sucked besides some rude park goers was BB. I agree with your point that Disney can not survive on stock, I doubt any company can. Many people complain just to complain or try to get attention for their cause. Disney milks every nickle it can..business is business and the board is responsible to its share holders. What I was trying to state is for folks to step up and help be part of the solution by investing in what they love.
Assignment was cancelled for today, so I am going to nerd it for awhile.
Have a good one..I love this forum.
