While at the park this past weekend we rode on what has become this family's favorite ride (3 times in a row) The Fairy Tale Brook ride. It's a goofy little relaxing ride and we all have a fun time riding.
This weekend we noticed some differences about the ride. At the beginning of the queue there was an additional sign that read something to the effect that the ride had a moving platform. Near the loading dock there were 2 new bright yellow signs that read WATCH YOUR STEP. There were also stickers in each boat that read the same thing. My daughter being the brave curious one asked the ride attendant why the signs were there. He replied that someone had fallen in!
It's not a very deep 'brook' but there is a track that the boats follow near the loading area so I guess someone could possibly get hurt.
When we returned after the 3rd and final ride around the brook the attendant made sure he helped all of us out of the boat so they are definitely going the extra mile on this one.
Hurray for Legoland for doing such a good job - I love this little park!

That sounds neat. Are there other rides at Legoland?

Yeah, they are all little rides. A friend of mine works there. He now fears legos.:D
Nigel2 you have to ask your friend about the guest that fell in, I'm so curious now.
When we were there over the summer, 2 little girls went swimming in something that you are not supposed to get in to. The little girls and their mom were having a great time laughing and splashing around. I don't believe they spoke a word of english though... neither could they read the signs that read "NO SWIMMING OR WADING" posted all around this area.

He works the technic coaster I beleive, so he may be in the dark (which wouldn't surprise me) if he can't give me the whole story, but I will ask since that intruges me now.

Nigel2 you have to ask your friend about the guest that fell in, I'm so curious now.Sad to say I was the only operator working on one of the events of a guest falling into the "brook". (Yes, there had been more than one event!) And at the time I worked there the people who operated the Technic Test Track (Technic Coaster for short) also were trained to operate Fairy Tale Brook, but now the operational ownership of FTB has been transferred to another department. (Attractions at LLC is broken down into sub-groups.)

They added more signs? I must have missed that (granted i did not really look for them). But the only thing I noticed that was different was that the misters were on super power! Seriously - after we went thru the first set of misters we were WET!
And I used to work at Sea World as a ride operator for shipwreck rapids and I can tell you people fell in the water form the loading platform quite often. The ride has the same setup as FTB but much larger and faster, so I know it can be tricky. But I would assume the small kids have a greater chance of falling in at LLCA.
I dunno what the process is if somebody fell in the water at LLCA, but at SW we had to do an e-stop that shut the entire ride down, shut the water screws (quick fact, that is the only water pump the ride uses) down and had to unload everybody in the tunnell right before the lift at the end of the ride after all the non-platform workers got down there and the water level rose to the highest point (about 10 minutes). It then took about 25 minutes for the ride to get back to the point where we could let guests back on the ride.
BUT the setup at LLCA is different - the ride is level thereand the water is not moving nearly as fast as at SW. So I would assume they just stopped the platform and got the person out? And I would be very surprised if nobody ever fell into the water.
