Any Ideas? I have the exact same camcorder. Make sure you have installed the camera's software on your computer. The CD labeled "Canon Digital Video Solutions Disk." Then (assuming Windows XP from here on out) make sure your Firewire is "Enabled" under Network Connections/LAN or High Speed Internet. You might also check that everything looks good for your 1394 firewire under Device Manager. I never had to do any of that, however. When I got the camcorder, I just installed the software/drivers, plugged her in, and she was recognized by my Windows XP and good to go. (I use the "Windows Movie Maker" program that was included with XP to download the digital video and edit it and stuff) |
