QuikQuote: Disney Magic's summertime visit to the West Coast was "hugely popular," according to Disney Cruise Line executives, but don't look for a repeat performance -- seasonal or permanent -- anytime soon.
The not-so-fairytale ending for Disney-philes in the West, however, is that after getting a taste of the Magic, it could be years before it or any other Disney ships come back. The cruise line has only a pair of 1,750-passenger vessels, both built in the '90s, and they are fat and happy spending their days in the Caribbean and the Bahamas.

While on our cruise we booked our next one for just after Thanksgiving next year, with an eye to possibly pushing it into 2007 after they announce the itineraries for 2007.
We had a blast and it was so darn convenient not having to get on an airplane to go out to Florida for it, but I also imagine they want folks from across the nation to go to WDW as part of a package deal so that we have to spend more $$$!!!
I'm willing to bet they'll do an Alaskan itinerary someday.
Heck, I used to say "Someday my prince will come" and lo and behold, one day, he did! So who knows for DCL coming back out here.... !!

Gosh, I don't know... with the hurricanes of the past two seasons, I have to wonder exactly how happy it really is to try to keep those itineraries going and dodging storms...
Come back to the West Coast! No hurricanes here!! :D

Not true. The Magic had to skip Cabo San Lucas and went to Manzanillo on the Eastbound Rebo cruise, all due to a hurricane.

The Hurricanes in the pacific ocean are few and far between thanks to El Nino. They shouldn't give up on the West Coast Itinary. Perhaps, they are considering a new vessel before making a permanent move to the West Coast. That and sprucing up Disneyland and California Adventure.

By definiton there are no hurricanes in the Pacific Ocean, only the Atlantic. In the Pacific tropical storms are called typhoons.
