Has anyone done the My Disneyland Birthday at the Plaza Inn? We'll be celebrating my daughter's second birthday at Disneyland this year and I was just wondering if this is something we'd be interested it. The Disneyland website lists that one, another at Goofy's Kitchen and another birthday option at a full-service restaurant. Just wondering if anyone has experience with any of these. Thanks!

Yes we've done Plaza Inn and the cake is awful. I don't recommend it at all even if its just a one time thing.

We did Goofy's Kitchen for our son's 4th. The waiters sang Happy Birthday and you get about a 6" cake and a giant souvenir cup with a stuffed Fantasia Mickey in it, a pin, and some stickers. I don't remember how the cake was as I had already gorged myself at the buffet.
In the park, we went to the Town Hall in Main Street and got a Birthday Sticker. Most of the ride attendents cheerfully recognized this and wished my son a Happy Birthday. He felt like a star that day!

We celebrated my son's 3rd b-day at DL last fall. We did the b-day party at the Plaza Inn and had a b-day dinner at Goofy's kitchen.
Plaza Inn: It was just ok. They gave you a cup of juice and an indivisual cake to decorate. The icing was VERY bright blue, red, and yellow. it stained my son's face and clothes, so we had to relocate his b-day sticker from City Hall to hide the mess. If you go, definitely bring a bib for your 2 year old! The host was Pat E. Cake, and the kids liked his songs, but the jokes were over the kids heads. At the end, Mickey and Minnie came out for pictures and autographs, and that was probably the highlight. The kodak photographers take a picture of the b-day kids w/ Mickey and Minnie, so that is definitely a great keepsake (which you have to pay extra for, of course!) My opinion: it was just ok, and we probably will not do it again.
Goofy's Kitchen: I will start off by saying that we love Goofy's, and eat there every time we are at DL. My son adores Goofy, so it was a no-brainer. When we got there, the table had baloons in the center and the $5 b-day gift bag I had ordered when I made the reservation was already on the table, along with a b-day hat for my son. Also when I made the reservation, I also ordered an 8 inch cake from the DL bakery. At the end of our meal, several wait staff and Goofy himself brought the cake out and sang Happy Birthday. It was a georgous cake, and incredibly yummy, but the best part was seeing the grin on my son's face. He thought his was the most special kid in the world! My opinion: Goofy's is a must for b-days. Even though it is expensive, take the plunge and order a cake through DL dining. It's worth it!
I hope this helps!

This sounds like one of the "Birthday Buckets" that you can get from any of the full-service restaurants for $20. We had a Buzz Lightyear one waiting in our room at the GC for my son when we checked in. It had all kinds of goodies in it, and my son loved it!

We loved the Plaza Inn birthday party. Sure, the cake isn't the greatest but decorating it is the fun part anyway (and my boys thought it was delicious :p ) It's only $10 per person and you get a discount off of that with a pass if you have one. We found it to be very fun.

For my daughters 2nd Birthday we went to Goofy's Kitchen and were extremely disappointed. It was very expensive and we had very few characters visit our table. I had made the reservation well in advance and when we got there, we checked in and had to wait. When the table finally was ready, they had not put the balloons and goodie bags out that we had already payed for. We had to remind them. The food was ok.
For my daughters 3rd Birthday we went to the Plaza Inn. It was much less expensive and we had lots of fun decorating the cakes. In my experience, the Plaza Inn Birthday is a better value.

We have been celebrating my son's birthday at the Plaza Inn every year ever since he was born. He will be 4 this December. We are also doing it for our daughter, she just turned 1 in June. I love the Plaza Inn birthday celebration.
