Could someone tell me what the daily cost is for renting a stroller at DL? Also can you park hop with it or do you turn it in at DL and get another one at DCA? In addition, how about midday breaks? Can you drop off your stroller and get another one when you return or do they charge you again?

Sorry for all the questions. We normally drive down and bring our own stroller. But we're not making that drive again (unless it's to move to So. Cal!) so we'll need to rent one.

Thanks so much!

Cost, I'm sorry, I can't help you with that one, but I can find out tomorrow for you.

As for the rest: yes and yes.

You can park hop as long as you go between the main gates of the parks (you can't take them through the monorail or the GCH gates, for example.) If you keep your receipt then you can come back later in the day and get another stroller.

$8/day for one, $14/day for two, or two free/ay if you have a Disney Visa Card.

I would still bring one if you're flying. It can be a lifesaver getting you through the airport with little ones and luggage, etc. You can gate check it and it's ready and waiting for you as you get off the plane. You won't have to pay for a rental, and you'll have a stroller that has features that you actually like (like your kiddo can recline for a nap if needed). JMHO!

Just be sure if you do bring your own stroller, that you put it in some kind of a bag before checking it to go in the belly of the plane. I have seen far to many strollers come up with goo all over them. You do NOT want to know what gets shipped and spilled in the belly of the airplanes, and you do NOT want it on your stroller, trust me!

I totally agree with this suggestion! I think having your own stroller is great, and *especially* when you're heading back to the hotel at the end of your day--the last thing your child needs is to be awakened to return the stroller so you can carry them....

I have a horrible bias against renting strollers so I'm going to me three the others' suggestion for all the same reasons- the convenience of having your stroller at the airport, the convenience of having your stroller after you've left the parks, and the comfort of having your own stroller and I'll add: the convenience of not having to find your rented green stroller in a sea of rented green strollers and not having to stop to pay for a stroller during your stay.

Thanks all. I totally agree about having your own. We may still do that. My concern with bringing our double stroller is the size of car we'd have to rent. Double strollers (or two single ones) take up a lot of room. In our minivan it's no problem but renting a minivan for only that reason is expensive. I'm wondering what size car may work. We have a Grand Am and after you get the double in there, nothing else will fit. I'm guessing they'd consider that a mid-sized car? Hmmm, I need to investigate.

I mentioned renting to my hubby. He's with you all. He does not want to have to carry a sleeping child to the hotel again! He did it during our last trip b/c Nick woke up and wanted to be held. Poor hubby was so sore. I guess it's a long walk b/t Adventureland and the BWPPI!

When we traveled to DL in June, we debated renting a stroller vs. taking ours. My sone is 3, and although he could walk, I knew we needed to have it available for ehn he got tired. We are Disney Visa card members, to the free rental really made me think. We were staying at the DLH, so we decided to bring ours as we didn't want to carry a 40 pound child all the way through DTD, and we wouldn't be able to enter through the momorail when we would have to stop to rent a stroller at the main gate.

The good news is, we signed up for a mid-size rental car through Dollar at LAX, and a rented booster seat for my son. They offered us a VERY good deal on an upgrade to a mini van with built-in booster seats, so we took it. Factoring in the $45 for the booster, the upgrade really didn't cost that much more.

My advice: Take your double stroller, and ask when you get your rental what that day's specials for upgrades are. You might get lucky and won't have to worry about it!

fyi - you can also rent strollers at the Starcade shop in Tomorrowland - perfect for entering the park via Monorail.

A friend of mine who just went to WDW bought two umbrella strollers, and then bought connectors I think she got them at oneplace.com but not sure do a google search. This way they can fold up... ideally can be stored on the plane in the closet ;). and could have one stroller or two or two hooked together depending ont he needs. Also umbrella strollers are common at resale places and cheap to replace if lost.... cheaper than the expensive jogger ones anyway.

!

We rented cars last week that were considered "full size" at Alamo - they were all Chevy Impalas but different models - the one we were driving could fit the double stroller but the one my dd's family was in could not. They travelled from the airport to the hotel with the stroller in the front seat.

Also - depends on the stroller because my dd's double stroller does not fold up as small as the one my dil has.

It was nice to have the strollers at the airports! and having the bigger basket area under the stroller. The finding the stroller part too!

You have a very valid point about the problem of getting the strollers into rented cars.

We have used the rented ones at DL - I didn't see a problem. Adriennek, are you talking germs?

No, I'm not worried about germs- I don't think the rented strollers are comfortable enough for when I've had kids that would nap in their own stroller. I really like being able to leave the parks with my stroller and not have to leave a rental behind. And I like not having to stand in line and pay for a rental. I like having a rental outside of the parks for airports and such, too.
