View Full Version : Disneyland stroller size?
kisroo 08-09-2005, 06:41 PM OK~I did a search and didn't find a thread about this, I'll apologize in advance if there has been a thread like this recently. :)
With the Chase Disney visa, we get a free stroller rental each day. Can anyone tell me what size child would fit in a DL stroller? We'll have a petite 7 yr old with us~~she's about 43" and weighs probably around 40 lbs??
Thanks!

She'd probably fit, although snuggly. If she's seven, though, she probably won't need a stroller too much, especially during the day.

disney jones 08-09-2005, 08:16 PM she'd fit easily - I have one 50 lbs, 47" and she loves the ride in the 'green machine'
hlbtimes2 08-10-2005, 09:53 PM The strollers are the jogging type. They are not adjustable (no recline), and have the large jogging type wheels. They are made by the yakima stroller company. Just to give you an idea of what they are.
Actually here is a link to an article here at MP that shows some pictures. http://www.mouseplanet.com/akrock/akrock2.htm
GrumpyUTboi 08-10-2005, 10:33 PM WOw you can get your 7 year old to sit in a stroller? That is amazing. Mine was bouncing off the rides for 12 hrs straight.
Disneyfun 08-10-2005, 11:01 PM May 4yr old will not even sit in the stroller anymore :( I sure miss the storage and cup holder. :p
Wendi 08-11-2005, 09:15 AM She'll definitely fit... wow, she weighs the same and is only an inch taller than my three-year-old!!! Well, 3-3/4-year-old anyway...

Thats what I was thinking too Wendi. My "little" guy was 3 in March. He's about 41-42" and 40 pounds. My 7 year old is just under 60 pounds, and 51" tall. She is all legs!
TowerofTerror 08-11-2005, 10:20 AM very nice wish i have a girlfriend and then after that we get married and have kids

I know!!! Her mom (sis-in-law) is tiny as well~we measured her at the beginning of the summer when we were getting "serious" about planning, so she may have grown since then. But we're still buying clothes in the 5/6 and sometimes 6x range for her! We'll definately be measuring her in her "resort shoes" right before we go. :)
Thanks for the responses~I figure she will do what many of you have said and not need a stroller at all, but it would be nice just in case she does want to take a break from walking. I'd actually love if she could just walk while in the parks...knowing me and my lack of experience with strollers, I'd see several Padder threads about the crazy woman who didn't know her stroller etiquette!! ;)
lauramaynot 09-01-2005, 08:18 PM Im trying to remember when I rented last month there was a ticket that said some weight limit and age limit and of course I threw the thing away... but I have seen some interesting things at the park - I once saw a grown woman sitting (more like squeezing :p ) in one waiting for a parade so they must be pretty sturdy or maybe they had to throw that one away at the end of the day :D

That was ME! :p Well Okay No I was not waiting for the parade. But I will admit to squeezing into (Not a rented but our own) my daughter's stroller on the 17th of July! :p I was just leaning/resting on the edge but then she climbed up in my lap and we stayed ther. And it still works! :p :D

Wounded Bear 09-05-2005, 09:52 AM Ok so, I park my stroller in front of P.O.T.C. with all the other strollers, and then come back after the ride to find all the strollers gone. Same for Small World and Snow White live show.
What gives???????????
Wounded Bear 09-05-2005, 10:01 AM Our last year of strollers (I hope) YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because "all the other strollers" were not put there by cast members, they were probably put there by other guests. Whie you were on the ride, the cast members came through and organized the strollers somewhere that Disney has determined to be an efficient place to park strollers while leaving walkways clear.
There probably wasn't a cast member around when you parked your stroller- he/she may have been moving strollers to the other location when you came through. If there had been, the CM probably would've told you where your stroller would be going or would've asked you to move your stroller.

All that you stated is quite true. However. Small world is very tricky!. I have parked my stroller in the designated area went on the ride came off to find the designated area to have moved. NOt just my stroller but all of the strollers.
This happens because of parades. I know but still it is a little nevering when you come out.
:p
Mark Goldhaber 09-05-2005, 08:39 PM Here's a bit closer comparison. My son is 45", about 45 lbs. Since he was sick for most of the trip and didn't have a lot of stamina, we used our free stroller every day so that he didn't have to walk too far. This (http://www.nowherespecial.net/misc/stroller.jpg) should give you a relative idea of the size. Note: he's scootched down in the seat a bit here, but he did have to bend his legs when sitting back. And he complained about stuff being put into the mesh nets behind and below the seat.
