View Full Version : TGIFriday's At Knott's Berry Farm
phoenixfire2k5 08-07-2005, 04:11 PM Here's a little diddy about this new restaurant. I went there last night with my gf B. Though it has the same menu and food as the other Fridays, there is a bit of a difference with this one. The atmosphere, the same. But the way the restaurant looks, it has it's own appearance that you will definitly find different to the others. The major difference here is that Knott's Berry Farm owns and runs it. I asked my waiter if this was part of the chain or a privately owned one and that was the answer he gave me. You will notice unlike at other Fridays, that all the staff are wearing Knotts employee badges. The waiter stated that the bad thing was about being runned by Knotts management, but I joked with him no this one. I said "Hey, it could be worse. You could be owned by Disney." He rolled his eyes and smiled. LOL!
But of course, the food was still very good. And I have a new addiction. French onion soup is to die for. :p

Where exactly is this located?
phoenixfire2k5 08-07-2005, 04:27 PM Where exactly is this located?
It is located in the Knotts Berry Farm marketplace. Across from the Mrs Knott's Chicken House. And I was going under the assumption that it would be a smaller restaurant because of the surrounding area. But I was wrong. It is as about as large as the others.
And my apologies to the moderators. I thought I had placed this thread in the lounge. Just now realized its in Parks General. DOH!

Oaky I have a great intrest in this becuase I use to work at knotts. As a matter of fact that is where my DH and I met and started dating at. I loved workig there when it was still owned by the family.
If it is across the street then they took out the shops. Not a surprise But if it is across the walk way then they took out the SHop which started as a little stand that the daughter had set up  I would be quite surprised if that is where it is yert that would be the best place for a resturant. I just can not express the state of shock I am in right now. This is as big to me as removal of the People mover or Light PArade. :)
Thanks for sharing and putting it in the lounge or I never would of seen it!
VickiC 08-07-2005, 09:06 PM Virginia's is still open. Could it be where the Garden Restaurant used to be? You know, where they did banquets, Brunch and stuff?
sdfilmcritic 08-07-2005, 09:25 PM I was thinking it might be in that one store that used to be the cowboy merchandise. I forgot the name of the store but it's located on the other side of the parking lot from Mrs. Knotts.

It was pentington (SP) They had mens shirts. Then that left and it became a knotss gift shop with Snoopy type gifts in it.
sdfilmcritic 08-07-2005, 09:50 PM Snoopy gift items? They should have stayed with the cowboy like mens apparel.

I agreed but I have sentimental reasons. MY grandfather shoped there. I have one of his old shirts in my closet that I keep as a memorie. And it is so soft!
THey also had a real cute old fashion toy store next door that I wish was still there!
phoenixfire2k5 08-07-2005, 10:08 PM Gotta clear the air. The shops that are alongside of the chicken house are still there. The restaurant is now where the mens shop, leather shop, and old toy store used to be. Right next to that same building that has snoopy merchandise and a snoopy balloon right on top of it. Matter of fact, you can access the restaurant from that store.

I think that restaurant has been closed. That sign on crescent and beach doesnt advertise those brunches anymore. Its all about the park now, so it really could be gone. I do know that the steak house is gone, because with fridays there, it wouldnt do any business.

When they left Knotts, they were across the street from Hobby City, almost anyways, but on the corner of Beach and Ball. Then they moved down to a mini mall near La Palma and Beach, but then closed there too. Now that mall is no longer there. Their current place is in Anaheim, the address 2471 E. Orangethorpe Avenue, Fullerton, between St College and Placentia Ave. Here is their website: http://www.mottsminis.com/

Just had to reply to this topic.....
Knott's still has the brunch every Sunday in the Garden Terrace Room adjacent to the Chicken Dinner Restaurant.
The Steak House and old Garden Room disappeared with the construction of Ghostrider in 1997/8. The old Garden Terrace Room is a bakery inside the park, while the Steak House is Auntie Pasta's inside the park.
Yes, TGI Fridays is where Bob's Men Shop once was, formerly the Leather Shop. Cedar Fair operates two TGI Friday's at Cedar Point as well.
As previously mentioned, Virginia's Gift Shop is still alive and well.
For those that care, the Pendleton shirts and Minnetonka Moccasins are still sold across the street in the Marketplace Emporium.
The TGI Fridays at Knott's is the first in the West of Friday's new 'prototype' restaurant, or so says their web site, which is why the decor is more lively.
Hope that helps...........
