Okay, I've just noticed this within the past few days when I'm using Google. When I go to search a name or topic, the first page are results from what I've entered into the search box. Like Brian Smith, for example.

When I skip to page two, the search box will change to just Brian or Smith and open up the search. It even does it when I have put quotes around the word or phrase.

I've never had that happen to me before, and now it's doing that all the time. Did I accidentally change the setting on my Google? It's really bugging me!

Does anyone have the slightest idea of what I'm talking about? :(

Really? The second page? Huh. Why have I never noticed that before? :| Is there a way to search with just the phrase I want to search and nothing more?

*Backing slowly out of the tech forum* Dang, I feel lame.....

When I first began using Google and would click to page 2, just like you said, it would give me results for just the first name, etc. I would wonder "Is that all Google could come up with, one lousy page of results"?

I don't see that problem. brian smith (http://www.google.com/search?q=brian+smith&sourceid=opera&num=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8) search results page 1, page 2 (http://www.google.com/search?q=brian+smith&hl=en&lr=&c2coff=1&safe=off&start=10&sa=N).

Okay--when I clicked on your link, Andrew, it was just like you said--both names, both pages. Then I tried it myself--I wiped out the Brian Smith you had typed, retyped it just like that, and on the second page there was just Brian. How weird is that.

My solution is to just stop using Google. ;)
