I know that it is still early but I was wondering if any one (cast members and fellow Mousepadders) had any idea when they usually have the Cast Member Christmas parties.
Any information would be appreciated.
Also -- how would the crowds be during December? I am currently looking at 2 different weeks.
Choice #1 - December 4th - December 8th
Choice #2 - December 11th - December 15th.
Thanks...

If you try to go to the parks on the 4th, prepare for some large crowds because of the Christmas Candlelight Procession that weekend. This show is phenomenal, and always attracts a very large crowd. Basically because its only shown one weekend a year. It starts with a candelight choir procession down Main Street, passing by the large xmas tree, leading up to the Main Street train station and forming a sort of large living Christmas tree. This choir, sings many Christmas songs alongside a fantastic symphony orchestra, during the telling of the Christmas Story. Basically, the story of the birth of Jesus from the Bible. It is really an amazing show. The power of their voices alone nearly brought me to tears last year, seeing it for the second time. If you want to tangle with the crowds, I strongly suggest you see it. Otherwise, avoid the park that weekend. If you do go, camp out early.

Thanks...Choice # 2, mom just retired after 15 years service it seems i have always gone with her to those as well as I being there 4 years of service. it seems they almost always occur between Dec. 11 thru 20th & there are now at least 3 different days they do this! I don't know if that will make much of a difference in the quality of your stay, since they generally close at 6 to 8ish on weekdays cast parties almost always start at 7:00 or 8:00 pm

I heard somewhere that it was going to be held in the Fantasyland Theatre this year. I don't remember where I saw this info, maybe someone can confirm or deny this.

I was in the Disney choir for 9 years and I have to say, that is something that I am going to truely miss not working there anymore :-( Candlelight was something I looked forward to every year and was something that I will always hold close to my heart. This year I am looking forward to watching it for the first time. It just is not the same as being part of it but I hope that if I get there first thing in the morning I can find a spot for that night.

Thanks for the replies...
I have never seen the Candlight Show... Sounds as if the show is amazing from the replies that I have gotten.
Is the show something that a 3 year old would find enjoying?
Thanks..

God I hope not. But, if it does, I don't think it would be to disappointing. Because, in a way, I can actually see this working better. They can fit a bigger and better audience in the theater and there won't be anything blocking any views such as trees or other objects. And it would also help traffic wise being that it is a nightmare and turns the area into a bottleneck, despite the easy access to an exit once the show is over. BUT.....it will miss a few things. For one, if it's in the theater, the Christmas tree will not be nearby adding to the feeling and realism of the show. Two, theres also lack of the decorations around the area to also add to the realism. (The decorations just seem to fit better on Main Street, they don't seem too theme park-ish.) And lastly, if it's in the Fantasyland theater, I won't be able to look up during the show and see the nighttime sky and the stars out.

It truely is an amazing show, isn't it? I'm happy that you were actually a part of something this phenomenal. But it will be a different, and just as good, experience for you watching from the audience's point of view. Plus, you always have the memories of being a part of that special magic.
Thanks for the replies...

It is an awesome show. They have a different celebrity narrate the story each year. Although, Marie Osmand has done it the past two years straight, mainly because the first year she took over for an ailing Louis Gosset Jr who was overtaken with food poisoning that year. She usually has a doll signing around Christmas time. Not sure who will do it this year. As for your little one, there is no scary parts in it. The sound output is generally pretty large and loud. So your little one might like it, or just might sleep through most of it. But, he or she might like the processional part of it at the beginning. All the lights go out as the singers slowly march towards the stage. Its kinda like the elves in Lord of the Rings when they would leave for the coast.

Last year the Cm parties were held on Monday & Tuesday December 6 & 7. Disneyland closed at 6pm both days as did DCA, making DTD a zoo! We ended up going back to our hotel and ordering room service because the wait at two places was over 2 hours! I think everyone decided that since DL closed early they would go to DTD!
I would choose the 11th - 15th!
