Earkid 07-25-2005, 07:05 PM OOO That pic was taken when they were still repainting Space Mountain white and the sub lagoon hadn't been emptied yet. Cool
Disneynerd 07-25-2005, 07:11 PM Very very cool! Especially helpful getting an idea of how close your hotel is the park. That is, if everything was labeled - sorry, can't help you mugsrb!:)
Pat-n-Eil 07-25-2005, 07:17 PM Check out earth.google.com and download the FREE Google Earth.
It does "fly ins" from space to your location, virtual sattelite touring from one destination to another, various overlays of roads, lodging, parks and many other things..
This Microsoft site IS very cool.. but you might be amazed by what you can do with Google Earth.
Hakuna Makarla 07-25-2005, 07:23 PM you know now I can see how I got lost qwhen walking back to the paradise and ending into a car lot . duh, I am so not good with direction. and why does the paradise pier look closer then the disneyland hotel?
pisces 07-25-2005, 07:29 PM All right everyone, get out your rulers:
The edge of the Grand Californian....according to my ruler....is much closer to the Maingate, than the edge of Park Place.
And, the crosswalk leads straight to.......IHOP  .
mugsrb 07-25-2005, 07:35 PM Yeah that google earth is pretty cool just can't zoom in that last little bit I looked at my house here in Seattle and it's abit scary to see your car in the drive way and know the pic was taken from space.

This is sooo cool! As well as I thought I knew the grounds of DL, I definitely felt disoriented when looking from above.

Are you kidding? Did you really see your car?
coronado_g 07-25-2005, 08:57 PM Darn! Google Earth is a broadband application that will not run on PCs older than 4 years. That leaves me out...
mugsrb 07-25-2005, 09:01 PM Are you kidding? Did you really see your car?

sriggins 07-25-2005, 09:08 PM they even copied google maps drag around. Can't MS think of ANYTHING on their own? :) Oh yeah, how to make it easy to get viruses, that they did first and best. heh
MrsSmith 07-25-2005, 09:12 PM I'm wondering how old the satellite images are. My house was built nine years ago. When I input my address, it shows the empty field that my housing development was built on.

Though you've got to download and install the software application and also have a Broadband internet connection. But it's worth the brief bit of work because:
- Fly from space to your neighborhood.
- Type in an address and zoom right in.
- Search for schools, parks, restaurants, and hotels. Get driving directions.
- Tilt and rotate the view to see 3D terrain and buildings.
- Save and share your searches and favorites. Even add your own annotations.

If you compare google's maps, with M$'s, looking at the ToT, you will see that the ToT is under construction on the google map, but finnished on the MSN site.... MSN has MUCH higher rez images.... and newer two.... looks like what they did though, is be more selective of what they have A) high rez images for, B) age of images ... I can not even look my home up, I can see far enough in to see the streets, but not the structure, but I can even seen cars on the google site... also, for grins, look up M$'s head quarters, they do not even show up on MSN's site! Funny, eh ;)?

Shortiemetoo 07-25-2005, 11:46 PM This site is GREAT...but how do you move and navigate around once you get to a location...ie move north, south, east or west??
Doh??!! Figured it out...lol
These sites are great!!! Thanks for the linky dinks!!
Vegitabeta 07-26-2005, 03:40 AM How come it can't find a map of England?
Sandiegoboy 07-26-2005, 04:50 AM Well I cant zoom all the way in with Microsofts on my house. I had a good program like 1 - 2 years ago though that did. And I could see my red car easily....
Whish I remember the name of the program I had, it showed an earth in 3d and you could type in any address and it would rotate the earth and zoom in on your address.
