I'd like to ask someone who has taken recent shore excursions on the West Coast cruises about their experiences.

1) I read here on the Pad about the jelly fishes making an appearance and stinging people in the Chilean Bay Snorkeling trip, but not so much so in the Santa Maria Snorkeling trip in Cabo, but then heard word verablly that they'd made an appearance but hadn't stung anyone as the cruises got well into June on the Sant Maria trip.

Has anyone taken the Santa Maria trip in the past week or two and can comment on this for me? We have reservations for this one on the Aug. 13-20 cruise and certainly don't want jellie to be an issue and will rethink this if need be.

2) Has anyone taken the Rainforest Horse back ride in Puerta Vallarta? We read somewhere that it was a great ride and that they had fun, but that the rainforest wasn't really much of a forest, let alone a rainforest. I'd love to hear another person's take on their experience.

I appreciate it! Thanks! Karin

Yes, that would be me! I was on the July 14 Santa Maria trip. Our group saw a ton of fish and zero jellyfish. However, there is a "Jellyfish Update" every 24 hours and we were told that morning that the count was "very low." It is a bit of a gamble, but the staff has vinegar and first aid items if anyone gets stung.
