I'll be @ DL in a week - yeah! Youngest DL is a little over 45" without shoes. With shoes she's over 46". She wants to ride Indy (she loves ToT) but I'm not sue about the safety of taking her on when she's not @ 46" w/out shoes. Any comments? Thanks.

That's a big ol' can of worms you're opening up here. First, I'm fairly sure the mods will move this to the parenting in the parks forum. Second, you will be getting many arguments on both sides. Have fun reading! :p My advice is go with your gut.

They will measure her with shoes, obviously. It does depend on how you feel she is maturity wise as well as physically. How old is she? That ride really jerks around so I would be leary, but can't say until I know her age, what I would do, if in your situation.

I think the height restrictions take into account that children will be wearing shoes. So as long as she is wearing "normal" shoes, tennis shoes or something, she should be fine.

I would ride with her and make sure she's in an inside seat. Not for safety, but to keep her from getting really scared.

Thank you all for the advice. She's over five and fearless. Only smiles on her face when she's on ToT and splash. I doubt she'd be frightened by Indy - she'd be on CA screamin if she met the height requirements.

We took our 5 year old on our last trip. She met the requirements with her shoes on. She loved it! We are going again in Oct. she is really looking forward to riding it again. She turns 7 tomorrow.

If she's over 5 and fearless and 46" in normal sized shoes, I'd try it. Now, remember, she still has to get past "the stick" ;) If she's 'under' the stick at all, they may not let her on.

As others have said, I'd put her in an inside seat. My 6 y/o loves Indy!

And his response to Space this weekend was: I SO LOVE THAT RIDE!

Yes, make sure she stands up tall when they check her. I'm not saying tip toes or anything like that- but good posture. They checked and rechecked my daughter because she was close- but when she would stand up good and tall, she would bonk her head on the stick everytime. LOL

Good advice. I place my 7 year old DD on the inside. DW is going on for first time so the girls be sandwiched in between us. Happy to hear about space, I know my youngest will love it. Not so sure about the oldest - maybe the one and only ride on space for her.
