I really enjoyed reading through today's column sharing the memories of some of the MP staff members. It is always fun to read these kinds of memories from the people on the staff that I know as well as to have the opportunity to get to know a bit more about the staff members that I haven't met.
I did want to add a bit of a personal note to Jennifer's most memorable Disneyland experience. Along with Jennifer, I was one of the people on that "Small World" boat that ended up getting off of the boat in Canada. That story has always been one of my fondest, funniest memories of Disneyland. Interestingly, I think today's column might actually be the first time it has been reported publicly, although I think it has become one of the more often shared word-of-mouth stories within the Disneyland fan community.
My own addition to the story is to note that this incident occurred before I actually met my wife, although I did already know her brother, who was also part of the old alt.disney.disneyland group that met regularly at the park. A couple years after the whole Small World incident, I told my wife the story and was very surprised when her response was "oh yeah, I remember that." Apparently, she was on the boat as well that afternoon. We are now pretty much convinced that this story represents our first shared memory. We think that we actually met one another a couple weeks later.
